So I got this silly Bushmaster XM15 E2S

It looks like any other Bushmaster XM15 e2s but this one is mine.

I have not shot it yet.

It has the telescopic stock, no flash hider, and few scratches ... nothing serious.

16 inch barrel ... rifling looks ok ... nothing bent or anything.

The front sight (triangular thing that is up already not the post) looks awful ... the casting is pretty rough looking

How do you guys clean up the looks of this thing at home?

I have not shot it yet.

The casting may look rough, but the gun will shoot clover leafs at a 100 yards, if the shooter is up to it!

I think they all look like that. All the ones I have seen (not Bushmasters, all AR pattern rifles) have looked really 'gravelly' I suppose.

Pretty sure they are cast. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. If you wanted to "clean it up" you could look at replacing it; pretty easy to do.
