I have a chance to buy a Bushmaster XM15 E2S 20", with less than 200 rounds through it for about $625. It has the original plastic case and a 30 Rd mag., and was originally purchased sometime around the early 1990's.

I don't have much experience with rifles, can anyone give me thier opinion of this rifle, and it's value? What should I look for when I check it out?

Thanks
Bill

Bill,
That's a great rifle and the price is fine,as long as its condition is being accurately represented. If there's any way possible, have someone familiar with AR's to look it over for you. If there's no "paper" involved it would be a particularly sweet deal.
Good Luck,

Very good price.

Even if it is well worn bolts are cheap, and barrels will run $200-$300.

Good price if the condition is accurately represented and nothing is wrong with it. Check the wear in the upper receiver, the notch where the charging handle latches and the face of the bolt. A gun with less than 200 rounds through it should still have a lot of parkerizing on the face of the bolt with just a few shiny spots on the face of the bolt lugs as well as very little wear on the bolt carrier and cam pin.
