Is there any site to buy clay pigeons online?? There is a lot of sites that have the throwers but none of them have the pigeons. Wal Mart doesnt carry many so I would like to order a few boxes.

gamaliel.com sells them, but you have to call for the price.

I'm not sure about MPC Sports.

Clay targets are fragile. It may not pay to order less than a pallet. On the other hand, if I had a decent-sized piece of land in the sticks, I could go through a pallet all too quickly.:)

Armed Bear hit the nail on the head. Clay targets are fragile. Read General discussions for UPS and FedEx gorilla damage. If they can break a gun, they can break your birds! I suspect that you will have more broken birds than not once they arrive.

Talk with the department manager at your local WalMart. Maybe he can order a large number of cases for you.

Another option is to talk to your local skeet or trap club. See if they will sell you a few boxes.

Good luck.

If you belong to a club or range that has clay shooting, you can also ask if you can piggyback your order with their next order, if they don't want to sell you any from their supply. Sometimes, they need whatever they have stored.

That said, Wal-Mart's price isn't bad. I just buy a few boxes from them when I need them. Real estate here is expensive, and I have nowhere to keep a pallet of clays.:)

One day, though, if I get that huge tract of land...

BTW you can also just contact White Flyer directly. They have a vested interest in your buying clay targets, so I'm sure they'll help. http://www.whiteflyer.com/contact.html

I'm not disagreeing with anyone, but I wonder, if clays are too fragile to transport...how do they make it to the gun store?

Clay pidgeons aren't all that fragile....at least the ones I use aren't. I've had several survive being launched out of a clay thrower, and hit the ground without shattering. So long as the shipper doesn't knock them around excessively, they should be fine.

how do they make it to the gun store?

On a pallet. They don't get tossed on and off the truck that way.

Like eggs, they don't break when you move them; they break when you start tossing boxes around, which is what happens when you ship them a box at a time.:)
