Hi All,

Looking for advice - really been looking to pick up a Tikka T3 Lite in stainless 30-06 and came across a deal on one in excellent condition with a Burris 3x9, bipod, sling and case for $475.

BUT... its left handed and I'm a right handed. Do not shoot bolt actions often - just hunting - and this would be more of a SHTF and yearly hunting rifle.

Would it be silly to pick this up to save around $400?

Buy it, strip it and resell it to someone looking for a left hand action. Some people use the Tikka LH actions for builds.

This is what I experience in reverse every time I see a good deal on a right handed rifle.

I think you could buy it and easily find a lefty who is shooting a RH gun willing to make a trade you would be happy with. There are tons of us lefties who would love to trade a nice RH gun for a lefty.

Unless you are planning to use this rifle to perform a "Mad Minute" drill, you'll be just fine. Only down side to a lefty gun for a righty shooter is it takes a second longer to work the action. There are some insanely good deals to be had on superb rifles if you can overcome this mental roadblock, that so many of us put up.

Remember, if a lefty can cope, a righty can too!

LGS had a Tikka T3 stainless in 308 awhile back. I don't have any 308 guns. Don't really need it since I hunt with my 6.5x55 Tikka. Saw it 2 or 3 times, knowing it was worth the money. Finally went back to get it and it was already sold. Decided that day, if I find another Tikka that cheap, it is mine. Tikka's are some of the best shooters for the money out there. I think they also have the best factory synthetic on the market.

Thank you very much all for the feedback!

If this guy comes through, I'm going to snag it :)

I would not be shooting fast with this rifle...

Good.

For the price, buy it and then decide what to do with it later..........;)

I am left handed, and I believe you should buy it. doesn't really matter what side the bolt is on, if you are on the bench. Also in hunting you don't have fast follow up shots available.

So you see a deer, shoot & miss (or hit and see another deer step out of the brush), and you're supposed to take your right hand from the grip, move to the forearm, and use your non-dominant hand to rack the bolt, then switch hands, re-acquire the trigger, and shoot? That'll suck and take a long time. Yes, I know lefties have to do it - until they find a proper LH rifle.

I'd pass on it and just pay more for a RH rifle. JMHO.
