Buy used gun online

I rejected one GB purchase, a S&W 617 that was sold as “NIB.”

My FFL called me when it came in, the gun was not NIB it was dirty with firing residue and had a cylinder that had the ejector rod unscrewing so it wouldn’t open easily.

Without even looking at it I rejected it, contacted the seller and he took it back after blaming his wholesaler (Claimed he never opens the boxes when they come in. Tough to believe that he didn’t confirm serial numbers for his ATF dealer log books unless it came factory-sealed and direct from S&W. o_O)

With any gun, a good clean-lube prior to firing will help let you know if you have a lemon or not.

Stay safe.

I picked up a MK2 and it came with mags. Two original Ruger mags and two aftermarket. It would not shoot more than 3 rounds out of the aftermarket mags without jamming, so - I just moved on from them and picked up a couple more Ruger mags, and no more jamming. Well, really cheap ammo that is dirty and inconsisten will still jam, but even cheap OK ammo runs solid.
