I wasn't planning on buying a gun for IPSC Classic division yet, but then I came across a used Springfield Custom shop gun.
I can't travel to try it, but its a chance I am willing to take.

Is this a better Gun for IPSC Classic than let say a STI Trojan?
A new Trojan is around 11.000nok here in Norway.

The used Springfield comes with a newly fitted STI bull Barrel, 8 magazines, a holster, a ported barrel in 38 super and a lot more, including a cheap red dot.
The Springfield is 9.000nok, but i can get it all for 8.500nok

i was thinking that this was a good was to get familiar with the 1911 plattform

All I can say is my STI Trojan 9mm works, it outshoots all of my 1911s including a S&W 1911 Performance Center. Other than stippled Kingwood grips I have not changed a thing. I would not trust the Springfield "Frankengun" but I would almost any STI right out of the box. My 2 cents may cost you a bit more but what is having a trouble free good shooting 1911 worth to you. I have seen many a pistol let other shooters down in IPSC matches. The only time my STI ever gave me any trouble, I changed mags durring a stage with only 2 rounds in the 2nd magazine. It went to slide lock when I ran out of ammunition, just like it was designed to. I thought it had jammed, until I looked in the ejection port. Get the STI.
