I have a question reguarding buying firearms from gunbroker.com.

I have never dealt with this site, but I am a little confused about the whole situation.

I am looking to bid on a shotgun, on an auction that only has a few hours left. I want to place a bid, but the site says I need to arrange a transfer before I bid. I have a local shop that will do transfers. I called, they need the dealer name, address, city, state, zip, phone number, gun discription, and gun sn.

Do I go ahead and place my bid, and if I win, the seller will give me all the information I need to transfer the weapon? I know the gun is legal in my state, the shop I will transfer it to could get it, would just take 90 days to get it from their dealer.

I need some quick advice on what to do, any advice would be helpful. I know I can purchase long guns, because I have purchased an AR-15 before.

Thanks,

Cyanide, they've added that "you must make arrangements with an FFL before bidding" language since the last time I won an auction.

If you already have a shop that will do the transfer, you're good to go.

They must have had deals go south because buyers from CA and other states weren't doing their homework.

If you have a dealer that will accept a transfer in for you then you are all set. If you win the bid you will be provided with the information on the seller. You send your money (I use US Postal Money Order) along with a copy of (your) FFL paperwork (with original sigature..not a copied signature) to the seller. Once they recieve the (your FFL's) paperwork and money they will ship to your FFL. Not a bad idea to print out the screen that shows the item and the specific auction that you won as well...at least indicate the Gunbroker Auction number that identifies the specific auction you won.

Check feed back on seller before making a bid..I prefer those that have done a good number of auctions with very positive feed back.
