Lets see how this plays out.

You have a shotgun, makes no nevermind if new/old/inherited/gift or found in the trash. You gotta Shotgun, and a crisp $100 bill...forget taxes, we ain't worried about some alphabet agency throwing a hissy-fit, whining, and getting their shorts in a wad.

Use the monies any way you want as long as it is "shotgun related". NOT towards a shotgun itself.

C note, whatchagonnado?

This oughta be interesting.

Ammo and range fees. The ammo may be in the form of reloading components bought in bulk.

It will go to recoil-reduction experimentation in the 12g format.
The nonexistant shotgun (mine) will get treated to a spare used wood stock to recut/mutilate/reform and a burly recoil pad that I'll reshape to fit my needs. Casual flit-quick consultation with someone who knows stock/shotgun fitting. Mercury recoil reduction tube(s) [again, used] toyed with. Jacket mounted Past Pad. I'll pay someone to make me up some custom lame-kick buckshot loads with various powder(s)/weights to get the close quarter penetration needed to stop meat at indoor HD ranges.
When done, any leftover cash goes to either some hinge hardware which I will use to mount a custom flip down access compartment in my loftbed frame to store the SG at my fingertips, or conversely... to pain killers, cheap beer, and a couple dark tragic European novels.

Renew my range fees for the year(24 dollars) and go to galyons and buy as many of thier 150 shell field packs as I can. That should be around 4 5 packs, so thats 600-750 rounds. That should keep me amused for a while.

I'm with Trapper, but also should note that I am a cheater. I use Clays in 38's and 45's too. I have burned over 8 pounds of it in pistols in the last 6 months, my entire stock for shotgun usage. I have THOUSANDS of shotshells loaded and waiting for a ride to the range, so I don't need anything at all right now.

Assuming the gun works properly, I would buy ammunition (trap loads, buck and slug). Then I would use the rest to buy IDPA standard targets to pattern my loads. Then whatever money is left over I would head to the range to do some trap shooting.

I have a Mossberg 395 in need of some attention. I hope to make a smooth bore slugger out of it. With a C-note I'd:

Have it drilled and tapped for a scope - $40
Add a Simmons 2X Pro Diamond Scope - $60

Hmmmm... :scrutiny: That went quick.

Changed my mind... I've got more powder left than I thought, plus nearly 2K of loaded 12ga target shells.

My vote would be for a used 20ga MEC Sizemaster, some 20ga wads and a bag of Ballistic Products' nickel-plated #5 1/2 shot.

I think I would find two good friends and take them to a round of sporting clays on my dime.

Figure $30 a person and I've got enough ammo here to cover the shell requirements.

I can't think of a better day then to spend it with some good friends getting beat down on the sporting clays course.

esheato...

I got started doing this to my Win 1300 with $100 and got the first part done. Then the Army Navy in Reading decided to close it's gun dept. I got; 3 lbs win 231, 1 lb 4024, 1lb lilgun, 4 speed loaders- #10,#586,#CH44,#36 and 1 bx 7mm 150 gr, 6 50rnd and 2 100 rnd ammo boxes, all for $100 and that shot the MTSWMBODKA fund.

Now I wish I did not spend it all cause I found a pristine 27-2 I am lusting over. :banghead: :banghead: :cuss:

I kinda figured this bunch would respond as have so far.

Well, I need a new gun case it seems. Zipper has not zipped in years, the patches on exterior...well ok you can see some orignal material - if you look real hard. Well actually just peer inside if you wanna know...inside is a "bit" threadbare you might say as well. Damn sure don't make any $4.95 canvas gun cases anymore huh? I don't think I can "patch" anymore...had the gun inside, picked it up by the top ( what handles?) , top in one hand, rest of the gun and case just stayed leaned against the wall.

Humm...you know with all those memories,... sigh... ok I'll toss it, you're probably right, the bottom part would not make a pistol rug afterall...:)

Ammo, reloading stuff, there is that Ruark book I never bought...gotta be shotgun in the reading, just gotta...if not I'm sure I could find another book about shotguns. Misseldine, extra copy of Brister...money I'll save on not patching a gun case gotta add up - right? ;)

It is ok to keep a pc of canvas as a bookmark isn't it ? Memories...

Yep.
Heavy canvas , thick flannel insides, real leather handles and trim, brass zipper with leather pull tag, and even a leather luggage tag dealie for name. $4.95 +3% sales tax.

Bought a box of Winchster. paper target loads, Smith and Wesson Brand .38spls., , and a Brick of 22 shells.

Even bought a Shakespeare Fly Rod "Wonder Rod" put a Martin 60 on it.

I was "rich" that day. Took in movie for .35, soda, popcorn and a candy bar. Paid the .10 bus fare home and still had change, from a $20 bill. BIG shopping spree - huh?

FWIW that flyrod - the first time out, I caught 65 crappie all by my lonesome.

Yep Canvas :)
