C&R as your carry or back up gun

Is there any reason why you could not carry a curion & relic (C&R) handgun from your personal FFL 03 collection, assuming you have a HCP/CWP/CHP? I cannot think of any good reason why you could not. Are there any sneaky rules that say that it is a collectable and not a working tool?

I've searched but cannot find anything about this on THR.

Lots of people are carrying the CZ-82 as their full time carry. No rules against it. It is still a firearm.

I carry a Russian Makarov all the time. Slim profile and conceals easily. I prefer it wearing tshirts and shorts anytime of the year. Very robust design and parts are proven realiable.

My CZ-82 is my EDC gun. Extremely reliable and accurate. If I could find a C&R-eligible 1911, I'd probably carry that one too.

I didn't think there would be an issue, but I thought I would throw it out there to see.

In Tennessee you can get Antique plates for your car (save $$$$), but cannot use it as a daily driver.

I just bought a little C&R gun that I intend to use as my summer carry gun, or "daily driver".

Well, I bought it back in the middle of December and had my local FFL send his info to the seller around December 27th. The gun has not shipped yet and my 03 FFL arrived today. The seller agreed to change the shipping info and ship it directly to me.

I had to pay a $15 fee for changing the shipping info, but just love the idea of it coming right to my door. It will actually cost me more, but that is only because we have a great FFL here in town that only charges $10 for transfers!

My bound book should get here tomorrow. I went with a one gun per page book that has room for a 4x6 photo of the gun. It has 72 pages and should last for a while.

One reason I can think of is the high value of some of the C&R handguns. For example, I have a couple of Colt Model M pocket pistols that could be carried. But since they are U.S.-issued General Officers' pistols valued in the thousands, I wouldn't want to put holster wear on them, much less risk loss. The same reasoning, to a lesser extent, applies to issue WWI or WWII 1911's.

One of my favorite EDCs is a Manurhin Walther PP in .32 ACP. Its C&R.

I was/am looking more at the regulatory/legal side of it, not (the insanity of) carrying a high value gun.

I bought a (just) sub-$200 milsurp pocket gun.
