C&R question

I was reading some C&R info from the BATFE, and I have a question...


Can a C&R holder buy a C&R machinegun (there were some listed) if they pay the transfer fee? And what would the procedure be for doing so?>


Keep in mind, I WONT be in cali anymore when I take the C&R plunge, so let's leave Cali aside..

You can buy a C&R machinegun in interstate commerce with your C&R license if it is legal for you to otherwise own one in your state. You still have to get the CLEO to sign off on your paperwork and pay the $200 tax.

The only real advantage is that if the gun is out of state, you don't have to have a NFA weapon dealer do the transfer and pay his transfer fees.
