C&R Renewal?

My beloved C&R license will expire in a few months. Is anyone familiar with the process of renewal? Will they (ATF) automatically contact me, or should I contact them ahead of time? Any help appreciated.

They will send you an envelope with renewal forms in it a few months before your FFL03 expires.

Like all things in this day and age, however (and especially where big government is concerned), I would remain proactive and not passive ... if, in fact, you want to continue as a C&R holder (not everyone does, apparently). Here's a helpful link that will answer many questions:

He's asking about a federal C&R (03 FFL), not a state CCW permit.

I got my renewal form about 9 weeks before my license expired. I returned it and got my renewal back in about 3 weeks, about a mounth before my old license expired.
