i am considering the pruchase of a cz 75d pcr . i have read lots of good reviews and i am wondering if any one out there has purchased on and what they think overall .

I bought my PCR new in 2000, and have used it as a concealed carry pistol ever since. It is also a good range, and home defense gun. It is accurate, and reliable. The aluminum alloy frame is a bit lighter than the steel frame, so easier to carry.

The PCR is one of the better semi compact 9MM's on the market, and a very versatile gun.

Welcome to THR.
I have not shot the PCR, but have shot the PO1 (the same pistol, but with a rail) and it was a great shooter, fun, accurate and easy to shoot. I like the size of it, small enough to conceal carry, yet big enough for HD and it's just a great blend of size, weight and features.

Awesome pistols! Been kicking myself in the ass for years, for not buying the trade in that Cabelas had for sale, for $350!!!:cuss:

I bought a PCR a couple years ago to replace a Beretta 92FS. It makes for a great range gun and is easy to shoot well.

At home its primary duty is the go-to home defense gun since either my wife or myself can just grab it and shoot it. The relatively small grip size and decocker instead of manual safety make it easier for my wife to handle.

Of course, I really like it for being a really well made old school DA/SA all metal gun. Too bad they don't offer them in a polish blued finish. That would be a classic looking gun.

I have a P01 and love the ergonomic design along with its superb reliability and accuracy. Eventually I would like to get a set of Marschal grips for it.

PCrs have a recurve trigger and are infamous for trigger slap. It can be remedied by having a CZ 85 trigger installed. This costs around $100.00 for parts and labor.

I've had one since 2007 and am very pleased with it. I prefer its decocking system, which lowers the hammer to a ~one-third-cock position, to the manual safety models. I have changed its grips to CZ accessory cocobolo wood to make the grip a little thinner, and put P-01 night sights on it. It doesn't like to eject the cases of Blazer aluminum, but otherwise no stoppages in ~1100 rounds.

I love my pcr a spring kit from cajun gun works and a little polishing has made it a very shoot able carry gun.

I too, like Hometeached1 and Bannockburn, have a P01 and really like it. However, I don't typically carry it because I don't think I can conceal it as well as my glock 23c or Kahr CW9 because the factory grips are made of rubber and seem to stick to my clothes. I'd love to get some aftermarket grips for it because I really think it'd be a great carry gun. My brother (Who doesn't own a gun) took a class with me for fun and borrowed my P01 and he kept raving about how easy it was to shoot. He shot it very well to have never owned any handgun.

Don't think it's compatible with the Kadet CZ 75 .22 cal adapter. That's about the only drawback I can think of.
Totally false.

I use my Kadet Kit .22LR conversion on my 75D PCR all the time. It works great, and because my PCR has a slightly better trigger (lighter pull) than my 75B, I get excellent groups with it.

The Kadet Kit fit on both my PCR, and 75B with no modifications, or fitting. While I shoot it on the full size 75B a bit more, it is great on the PCR too!

Before you buy try to put your hands on one as the trigger reach or length of pull is somewhat long for the gun. Some people have a problem with this , especially those with smaller hands . That aside, I have a CZ and like the platform , but I am tall with large hands.

That is pretty much why I sold my Beretta 92FS to get the CZ75D PCR. Everything with the PCR is in reach of my fingers and thumb, while the 92FS was not. Of course, I don't have hands as small as this. That could be a problem. :D

This is the best bet.
Narrows the grip a touch. Nice and smooth with clothing.
Worth every penny.

^^^Aluminum is very cold on your skin until it warms up!^^^

Better grips yet are the VZ line up;)

On my list of guns to own, although the P01 or tactical is at the top.
