CA Hangun List Update

Why would it never happen? Can we (Kalifornian's) get a little support from the THR community, NRA & GOA to apply pressure to the manufacturers? Damn, it's seems like it's worth a shot. (pun intended)

I can't recite the number of AR-15 manufacturers off the top of my head, but I think it would be a challenge to get them all to cooperate in this even with outside pressure from the NRA and others. The day we got everything in line, one of them would pull a Bill Ruger.

Look at how the Barrett ban got the California law enforcements panties in a bunch. I guess I just wnat to believe that the more companies that jump on the band wagon, the more of an effect it will have. I'm silly huh?

What would the press say if it found out Glock, Colt or Springfield (just one of them) had voluntarily refused to ship anymore guns to California? Would anyone care . . .

In order to run for office and WIN in California you have to sell out to the big Gov't unions (teachers, police, firefighters) they OWN the Democratic party in Cal. - without their money you will not win & you will not get a chance to run as a Dem. - and you don't just sign up one day and say "I'm on your side" you have to work your way up the ranks its like "what have you done for us" so we will support you.

Cal. politicians are masters of the art of misinformation and double speak.

Currently we have a proposition going to vote on Nov. 7th (prop.R?)- it lists all kinds of things everyone would agree with - such as No donations from Lobbys, No gifts from Lobby's(to politicians), Politicians cannot commit crimes for Lobbys, etc, etc etc, then at the very end it say and a 3 year term limit for council members. Well, guess what all the other things are already regulated and the current term limit it TWO! This is all about increasing the limit to 3 but the sheeple in Cal. will not read to the end they will go - No money from Lobbys good thing too cause that means no money from the NRA lobby I'm going to vote yes...all they did was keep the same clowns in power for 4 more years and then they will eliminate term limits!

Please God let it be true that it is always darkest before the dawn - cause its getting darker by the year!

As far as I know, Kaliforna Police Departments can buy what ever they want.
Yeah most of california's laws make police a seperate part of society free to utilize whatever small arms, other weapons etc they deem necessary because we are a police state. Don't forget that it was L.A. that invented the whole 'S.W.A.T.' team concept of having military style tactical police.
I think that is half of the reason our laws are able to become so restrictive, they don't have an outcry from police citing the constitution because they are exempt.
The democratic party in California tends to be most represented by the people through Unions (sound like a socialist labor party?) which include Police, teachers, nurses, etc With law enforcement being the most pro-firearm of these unions, thus through exempting them you are left with much fewer California based proponents of non-infringement of the 2nd with a democratic base. With republicans the minority in the CA progressive expansive government mindset it becomes the Dems that count.
So yeah it only goes downhill, and slows down slightly when more conservatives are elected (though with Schwarzenegger signing the .50 cal ban ...)

Damn, I thought we had it bad in Mass with our "list". They actually make companies pay a yearly fee to keep their guns on the list!! That is completely beyond the pale. I believe that could be brought to court.
Our problem in Mass, is that we have two lists. One is Compiled by the State, the other is a secert one that is compiled by the Attorney General. He makes the final discission if a handgun is sold in MA. Our real "list" of approved handguns is actually shorter than the one the state publishes.

I've been told that S&W pays approx $500,000 per year to maintain firearms on the CA Roster. I was a bit stunned, to say the least. My reaction was that I'd heard incorrectly, or that they must've meant to say $50,000 ... but I was told that I had actually heard right ...

Want to guess why S&W firearms cost more in CA?

I've thougt about running for office, still considering it.

A few problems though:
1. I'm honest
2. I'm not rich
3. I vote Republican

I know a fella who once did you a favor- He would probably tell me you'd make a perfect politician.

And CA folks get po'ed when we wont ship to CA.

I am from NH and care less what CA does as it should fall off the coast before it contaminates the rest of the country.

I do feel sorry for you CA members but MOVE , I did 24 years ago out of MA trust me it's nice in the free world Money ain't everything.

Sadly I also had to move out of NAZI NJ. I now live in VA and it is a totally different mindset. People practice shoot in their backyards here all the time. When the police roll by and hear the gun shots, they just keep going because they know it's just someone plinking or sighting in a rifle. In NJ a gun shot would draw dozens of squad cars. I loved NJ and lived there for 28 years. I watched it's decline for the whole term. It is so hard to get anyone involved in a cause they don't see as their own. "They only want assault rifles" even ignoring the fact that assault rifles were regulated a long time ago, and their Remington 870 would be banned, under the new definition. NJ will soon follow CA and MA. We need to all join together to stop the anti-gunners from taking all our guns away. We can't keep moving away forever.

i just bought one of these in california... what does this mean? im not fermilular with how everything works. i legaly bought it at a store, payed for my dross and everything. and they still have like 3 other GSRs in the store

am i going to get in trouble for leagaly buying this in california?:(

Don't these people who make this list work for the citizens that keep this state afloat? Is this infringement?

thread from the dead everybody. If you want to buy something in Cali, make sure to check the list first. If it is not there, you can always try to find one that somebody already owns and buy it PPT. (PPT are exempt from safe list)

Bangui, the restriction is on selling them or importing them for sale; the DROS software will not let a FFL dealer enter a firearm not on the Roster without a specific over-ride (as for C&R).

The dealer might possibly make a mistake; if that should happen, worst is you would have to take it back and get your money back (less DROS fee, I'd bet!).

I'm sorry folks but how in the name of the founder's can you remain in such an obvious hell hole of socially engineered lunacy! You're just mad to put up with it. Sincerely I almost have no sympathy for you.......Almost!........:barf:

I am sure people arent staying in Cali because its fun to try to make your way through gun laws. As much as I love my guns, there are other factors in peoples lives besides guns, and those factors all play into the decision to pull up and get out. It is not as simple as "just move away".

As others have said....so goes california, so goes the rest of the country. Just wait, somebody will try to pull this crap where you live.

Shakedown is another word for it

Pay us this or you can't do business in our fair state. How they can get away with interfering with interstate business is beyond me.

Roster of Firearm Safety Devices Certified for Sale

Effective January 1, 2002, no firearm may be sold, transferred, or manufactured within California unless that firearm is accompanied by a DOJ-approved firearms safety device (California Penal Code section 12087, et seq).

Not only does a firearm have to be on a current list, you also have to have a DOJ approved safety device which is also on a current list.

I lived in that state for about 14 years, have no plans to move back. Sad. So sad.

I would like to move but it would just be to damn hard to just get everything together and go. Last time I didnt have a job it was hard enough trying to find one here where there are a ton of jobs and I could drive to them for an interview. So god only knows how hard it would be to find a job in another state, and Im sure as hell not moving somewhere without a job. Not when I have a wife and kid depending on me to put a roof over their heads and food in their mouths.

.
You guys should be thankful a California exists.

Without us, where would your malcontents, social misfits, chronically unemployed, welfare cheats, addicts, burn-outs, mentally challenged, insane, scammers, criminals, wild-eyed progressives, new-age artists, actors, and hairdressers go?

For the price of a bus ticket, you rid your society of what appears in our voting booths every election.

4th Generation Californian. And yeah, I'm looking to get the hell out.

For all of those that complain they can't move, they can. I begged, borrowed, but didn't steal to get here. I had just gotten laid off, on umemployment and that was my cue.

I took a week and spent it with my buddy in Phoenix, who let me stay for free (that's the borrowed part). Found a job within two days (that's the begging part), hired on, paperwork ready to go with direct deposit. Spent the rest of the week looking for a decent place to live at a reasonable price in a decent area. No luck there and had to get back to CA. Within 3 days my buddy calls and tells me he found a pretty nice place, he went and looked at it. Wow, nice place, good price, decent area (North Phoenix, near Scottsdale). I called, got the paperwork faxed (more begging), money Paypal'd and was here and moved in within 2 weeks of finding a job.

Best thing that I've ever done, but something I should've done much sooner.

You have to really want to do it, kinda like quitting smoking. Otherwise, you're gonna sit and complain, and complain, and complain. To be honest, I'm sick of hearing Californians complaining, and I was sick of it when I lived there. Get off your butt and do it, or, shut up the whining.

Sad thing about this, I've been called a coward for cutting and running instead of doing something. I tried to do something, CA is a lost cause, it just took me too long to realize it.

Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day
