I've looked at the magazines for years and never found anything in there "bargain" worthy. Sure there were cool things but nothing I "needed". That changed yesterday.

Bushmaster factory 30rd AR15 mags 50% off. $14.99 for high quality magazine is a steal! Unfortunately, I only bought 2 since I plan on spending good coin on backpacking tent/sleeping bag soon.

The prices are only on in-stock items in the store or online. Once they're out, the price goes back up. Just wanted to notify my fellow High Roaders to get in on it while the gettin's good.

To be honest, $15 for 30 round AR mags at this point is market or slightly higher than market - check the CDNN catalog etc.

I agree. That's actually a high price for good, cheap, AR mags these days. CDNN is your best bet, but I've seen them cheap other places as well.

Heck, I got some Magpuls for $10 recently.

$15 is probably a decent price for an in-store, retail buy.

Online, BCM has good deals on 10 packs of various mags...

My local store carries pmags with window for $12.95. That is a pretty good price. The best was DSG arms blow out last year. $9.99 a piece was awesome. I stocked up pretty good.

I haven't had much luck with cheap mags(C products, pro mag), so I avoid them. The only mags I've had good experience with are Bushmaster(~$20) and Lancer L5's(~$19). Sure you can buy cheap $10 mags but in my experience, you may not get the best product.

For $15, that's a best deal I've seen for BUSHMASTER mags(not Ar15 mags in general)

PMags are good. They are used all the time in the sandbox. I am pretty sure you and I will not be working them any harder at the range.

Back on topic...

I've got a Cabelas on my territory in Hammond, IN. You just gotta go in and look around. If anybody is close and wants a loading set up, they've got a couple complete kits in the box.

I've found some good deals in the Bargain Cave. Others, not so much. Best deal was a 55# Motorguide remote control trolling motor for my bass boat. $649 originally for about $240.

I also got some long sleeve tee's that were $19.95 for $2.50 each. I just bought a $250 ceiling fan for $39. Blaze orange jacket that was $99 for $29. Really nice electric smoker that was $999 for $365.

Bought a RCBS loader and all the extra stuff for 65% off. Same for my son-in-law's Lyman press.

FWIW...recently they've changed policy. Stuff that I got was one of a kind, returned items, etc. Used to be that the local manager had quite a bit of discretion about price. Not any more so most of the really great deals are gone now.

In years past you could go into the Bargain Cave and really get some awesome deals. Not so any more, last few times I have been in there it seems like maybe 10% off or so. Not worth going anymore, IMHO.

Cabelas, while the Franchise is not in trouble... Some of the stores are having trouble reaching their sales goals...More people going in and walking around for something to do, (Hamburg, Pa) than actually buying something...Their merchandise rarely goes on sale,,(10% off retail is no sale)...My buddies wife works for them..and they treat their employees pretty bad... I do feel sorry for them...:what:

i used to be cabela's biggest supporter, but...

1 - their stuff is expensive, and when it goes on 'sale' it is still too expensive.
and
2 - the store closest to here rarely has any inventory. doesn't seem to matter what i want to buy, they don't have it.

so, i just stick to my local shop, grafs, eagle armory, and once in awhile midway... can get it faster, cheaper, to my door...

Their business is catalog and online sales, the storefront is just a billboard. If you want good deals and real sales Scheels does a pretty fair job, with much better selection to boot.

Same as what I've noticed here in the Rogers, MN store. The sale days from Turkey day 'til X-mas is another matter altogether. Things like 50% off and then another "50% off lowest marked price" so things get real reasonable.
