Read between the lines.... put yourself in this picture and imagine what ignorant reporters could say about you. Think about some DA or Police Chief wanting to make a name for themselves would do (ala Nifong, et al.).....

Called to blaze, firefighters uncover ammo cache

Officials this morning searched through a Norco house where more than 1 million rounds of ammunition were found after a fire.

Much of the roof of the single-story house was damaged by the Thursday fire. Ammunition in boxes and even cooking pots were laid out in the driveway today.

Some of the material was found in a tunnel under the garage, authorities said.

The seizure is one of the largest in Riverside County. In addition to the ammunition, authorities said they found at least 60 weapons, ranging from handguns to rifles.

The fire was reported Thursday afternoon. When firefighters arrived they heard the ammunition rounds going off and battled with the suspect who was trying to get back into the building.

"Anyone who has their house burned down obviously would want to save it, but he had some other motives for wanting to get back into that house," said Riverside County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez.

The suspect appears to be a survivalist, Gutierrez said.

The man, who name was withheld, was taken to a mental hospital for evaluation. He was described as being in his 50s with a wife and at least one child.

No crime appears to have been committed - so why was there a seizure?

Why was the comment about "other motives" even made?

Why make the comment about being a "survivalist"?

Why was he sent for a "mental evaluation"?

I don't think I need to spell out the reason for you all. Face it, we all stock-up on certain items, such as preps for being snowed-in, or hurricane season, as the case may be. Buy somethings in bulk when they're on sale or whatever. Does that make us a "survivalist" in need of a "mental evaluation"??

Did the man do anything illegal?

Is it a crime to possess that much ammo in California?

Everything is against the law in California, except the stuff in the Ten Commandments, all of which is now legal there.

It looks like the reporter and the anties will milk that story for months and the the guy that had all the ammo will be in deep s--- just for having more than 50lbs on BP. I hope others that have that much stuff wake up and don't put all their eggs in one basket.

If it isn't, it will be as soon as this hits the state senate...

Yep. Since the will be violating his second amendment rights, why not go ahead and pass an ex post facto law making that much ammo illegal.
