The President is not special.

Nor is his or her office.

It's a job.

Nothing more, nothing less.

The President is not our leader, he or she is our employee. We lose this distinction at our peril.

The person who holds the position may or may not be special, but as someone who has taken an oath before God Allmighty to defend the office against all threats foriegn and domestic, I for one think it is very special. I will add that at least in this case the electorate followed the wishes of the majority and elected the man who won the popular vote. I get the feeling that you may not like our current form of government and perhaps you should follow the lead of this nations forefathers and strike out on your own to create a new country that is more to your liking. You could call it tubeeeland, I'd recommend one of the uninhabited islands in the Pacific.

Of course, now the SS is confiscating cameras and cell phones from people in Burger joints so they cannot take pictures of Obama's family.

Link here.

So why wouldn't they start banning free speech and firearms in his most exalted presence as well.

Bush/Chaney already created free speach zones, no anti-government speach in the vicinity of the President. I guess you forgot about that.

Why the Heck does this have to be about the Big O or George and Uncle Dick?

Seriously... The free Speech zones were BS as well.

The office in recent years has been transformed into a Monarchy and it should not be. Politicians have risen to a point where they believe they are Shepherds rather than the Mouthpieces of the people.

Like I said earlier this isn't a Republican Democrat debate. It's a political battle against Elitism and keeping us away from Serfdom. It's also an abuse of Office issue.

I'm a realist and honestly sick of both parties. We've seen our freedom's eroded for the last 50 years under Rep and Dem alike. It must be realized that the People are the Power and the Representatives are just that. They are not Gods or Kings but simply folks who were put in their positions to serve and defend the people rather than lord over them.

As a person who swore to defend the constitution (as I did), you need to actually read it. There is not one phrase in the COTUS that says the popular vote chooses the POTUS.

Sure didn't forget that- I was vocal about it when it happened. We are living in the NOW. This is not about politics, it is about freedom.

To RCO- exactly.

I didn't say it did, I said this election the popular vote agreed with the electoral vote, "in this case the electorate followed the wishes of the majority and elected the man who won the popular vote."

I guess I didn't understand what you meant since it has been against the law (as far back as I can remember) for the public to have firearms in the vicinity of the President and B/C made free speach against the law in the vicinity of the President.
