Remington Model 34, my friend has one, they are great guns. His has a peep sight on his which is nice, but everytime you want to take the bolt out, you have to remove the rear sight and therfore it doesn't shoot the same each time you take it out.
I agree, that is a Model 34. They had a chrome plated bolt and grasping grooves in the stock. The later 341 had a blued bolt, no stock grooves, and a differently shaped trigger guard with the front turning inward rather than out.
Thank you! That's consistent with others of the "family firearms". I have the Remington model 12 manufactured in 1928 (restoring it is a current project). Don't know what happened to this one - maybe one of my uncles took it.
All of my uncles, for that matter all of the family of that generation, are now shooting at the big shooting range in the sky. I'll check with some cousins just out of curiosity, though.
