Can BP substitutes deteriorate

i've used about 100 pounds of Pyrodex BP substitute. Pyrodex is a very stable powder when stored in a cool dry place. i just opened a can of Pyrodex that was bought at Gibson's in Lawton in 1992. That powder is as potent as a the new stuff.

I fired My Hawken .50 today with some Pyrodex I bought in the mid 80's, it shot wonderfully.
