Or sell it TO an FFL at the gun show. Hmm. Wait. I gotta think about that one :)

Do you have to sell only to an FFL in your own state? Never ran across that one before.

I have bought and sold many times privately. To my knowledge there are no regulations in the state of Alabama that say an FFL dealer must be involved.

Only to an ffl or by transfer through an ffl

Yes you can sell it to an FFL or if sold to a private party you would have to transfer it through a Florida FFL. You may not sell it through a face to face deal to be legal. Makes no difference if it is a long gun or handgun. You may also buy a long gun only through a Florida FFL only.

On a side note if you were an Alabama FFL you could not sell a gun there as well you could only display your firearms and take orders then go back your your liscensed premise and ship the guns to a customers recieving FFL

I live in Alabama and would like to attend a gun show in north Florida this weekend. I have a rifle I'd like to sell. Would that be legal

That gun show is not too far from me in pesnacola. They are asking $7 to get in the door and that is way too much for me. To break even I would have to not only find nice things, they would also have to be cheaper than local or internet which often they are not.

Not true.
An individual can buy a long gun from an out of state FFL in the FFL's home state.

e.g., FL resident individual can go to AL and buy a shotgun from any AL dealer (FFL)

Our local gun shows out west often have an FFL service provided by the gun show promoter (for an FFL fee) available for the convenience of vendors and attendees. If you find a private buyer at the gun show, you can use the gunshow's FFL service. Call or email the gunshow organizer to see if that's available for you.

All the gunshows in this region went over $12 years ago. We would consider your $7 fee a bargain.
