Can someone help me with the book title?

I can't remember the name of a book I once read, it was about the history of gun control.

It was a fictional work, based on true events, starting around the time of 1934 NFA and the guy who's case determined it to be constitutional, then it went through a few other folks, then went through a pilot in the navy, then to his son, who was the majority of the book, and the guy started a revolution of sorts by waging a personal war against the ATF and the FBI.

Sorry the description sounds weird, but if you've read it you'll know what I'm talking about.
