I've never owned a Ruger auto - I have the sp101 in 357 mag - but everybody says they're built like a tank and they run like a ceiling fan. Plus the solid black P-95 is downright nice-looking.
Gun show two weeks ago had one of the big wholesale dealers selling new P95s for $270. I want to say it was the stainless model but I can't be sure. Quite a few dealers had new P95s a shade under 300 bucks.
P95 is the toughest pistol I own. Whenever I get hold of some weird reloaded or imported military surplus 9mm ammo that I'm uncertain about the P95 is always the reliable test platform.
Best 9mm for the $ IMO... shoots reliably, shoots straight, high capacity... tons of very satisfied P95 owners. I'd take a $ 300 Ruger P95 over many of the higher priced 9mm's.
