I can not say enough about this pistol. Shot it for the second time today. Functioned flawlessly with some Remington green box cheapo from Academy. Canik Shark 55 C, chrome finish. Let my buddy who works at the range shoot it... He put me to shame with his group. His mouth was hanging open as he tried to find some words. Buy one before they go up.

Agree most certainly.....

I bought the C100 Tristar last year great pistol 500+ trouble free rounds I often carry it as well .Well Under 400$ otd makes it a great deal on a CZ clone

Love my S-120. All steel, nice soft recoil, accurate, and solid, well functioning pistol. Highly recommended.

Said it in a half dozen other threads but I own the C100 and L120. Both are great and have never had a failure of any type.

I picked up an S120 last month. I absolutely love it. The out of the box trigger was a little better than my brother's CZ75B, and the machine work is nicer on the Canik as well.

I wonder if the Turks will ever make a HK P7 knock off for ~$400?

I don't mean to high jack this thread but i have been looking at the stingray c and the tisas zigana m16 which would be tbe better buy when it comes to accuracy, modilarity, ergonomics, and accessories availability. I have a 6' 230lb build which would be good for concealed carry and home defence?

Has anyone compared the gun to the actual CZ. Or are these just one sided conversations. In other words have those who shot these guns also fired the CZ?

I do have a CZ 75B and like some others hesitated on buying a Canik. Took a chance on the Stingray-C for $299 and was impressed so much that I bought the C-100 for $350. The smaller CZ pistols are at least $200 more than the prices I paid. The overall quality, feel, and accuracy are as good or better than CZ. So far so good. In years to come my concern may be for parts. Only time will tell. For sure these may never command the price of a CZ on the used market but my concern was not about resale.

Yup, I own a stainless CZ75B and the Tristar L120. Gotta say that the L120 has no machine marks whereas it looks like the CZ75B had a dremel taken to the insides.

The SA trigger on the L120 is also better in part due to a lighter trigger spring. The Tristar is a great gun and so far has been just as reliable as my CZ75B. DA pull is pretty similar.

I also own a chrome (well what they call chrome I would call a more stainless look) canik shark 55... flawless with 250 rounds through it. Now that I think of it I need to start a thread about loading with blue dot.

One sided conversations?

I started this conversation about the Canik. This conversation is about the Canik... Always was. I own two CZ97 B's, but I have never shot a CZ 75. Why should we have been talking about them(?)... I mean you're welcome to start talking about them if you want, but somehow I feel like Temple Grandin. We who speak of one sided things didn't even know we were supposed to be comparing it to the CZ... Stupid us. Remember... We are different, not less.

It is a CZ CLONE. People are going to naturally make comparisons to the CZ-75, and it is VERY relevant to the conversation, as anyone who is considering a Canik is probably also considering paying a premium for the CZ.

Exactly Pilot, the whole thing is about the gun being a copy of another gun, so naturally one would not purchase both. With that in mind it would be natural to ask If the copy compared favorably to the original. If so one could save a substantial amount purchasing the clone. Why buy both guns if they are the same or if the clone was indeed better than the original?

I got a S-120 last fall on Gunbroker from Bud's for barely over $300. Been really happy with it. Spent a few bucks on new Hogues and a few bucks at Cajun Gun Works for some new springs and this thing is a sweet shooter for sure.

Geeze. Lighten up man.

For those of us that own CZ's and are considering a Canik, the comparisons are VERY relevant. I have yet to come across a Canik in person. I have to rely on forums to tell me if ergonomics are similar between this and my CZ's or if the Canik's will take my CZ mags or if they'll fit in my holsters.

All about tone...

I am a big baby and I'm way too sensitive. When is bought the Shark, I had never seen one before. I took it on its own merit, granted, with the knowledge that the design is CZ. I invited the comparison in my post, but I was happy with Canik/Tristar love fest.

I defend the "one-sided" conversation. I love my CZ's. I think owning the Shark does not preclude my buying a 75... As a matter of fact, I saw one in a small-town pawn last week... Bet they still have it!!

CZ's are known for their lack of finishing work in the interior of the gun. They are rough inside. But it has little to no effect on their ability to shoot well. If these guns have more finished internals and still had the other features that make the CZ as nice a gun as they are, then they may really be worth a look. Can they duplicate the trigger and general accuracy of the originals is the question?

I have too many CZ's for my own good, 2 Baby Eagles, and 2 Caniks. I have a bit of experience with all of them and can make a general observation or two...

The Caniks I have are the Shark CB and Shark FC. They are really an alloy clone of the all-steel Baby Eagle, not the CZ. In other words, they're a clone of a clone. They seem to be very good pistols and I don't anticipate any major issues. Whether or not they're as good as the Baby Eagles, only time will tell. My BE's are my oldest handguns and have never given me a bit of trouble.

If I have a concern with the Canik, it would be the alloy frame. Will it hold up as well as the steel frame in my other pistols? Time will tell.

All are good weapons IMO. The Caniks come considerably cheaper than the CZ's and somewhat cheaper than new BE's. If I was starting over I'd probably get a semi-compact Canik for carry and full sized CZ for the range where the extra weight isn't an issue for me. If I was going to get a clone, I'd want one of the originals to try and figure out what all the fuss was about.
