Canik Rival Steel Frame

Mine doesn't, my friend's does. I took a heat gun to it, and it does now. It's hit and miss. I was talking to the owner of smoky mountain concealment this morning, and he's designing an S holster right now, it may be done by the end of the week. My other OEM rival holsters are a better fit, something appears to be wrong with these first moldings. The S's dimensions are bigger than the normal Rival too, taller from the bottom of the trigger guard to the top of the slide, and wider.

Well that's a bit disappointing since I just got a nice custom holster for my rival but it still might be worth it to upgrade eventually. Just makes it more likely that I'll wait a little while.

I am just waiting for the big online guys to get stock or LGS to have one when I am there. One LGS had one & sold. I am on their wait list

Anyone know whether or not there will be a threaded barrel for the Rival-S? If so, what about suppressor height sights?

That's what they did with the Mete Pro Sft/Sfx. My hunch is those will be the next steel framed guns. It would follow thier pattern of upgrading the full sized pistol use cases. Those were my favorite Caniks before this.

The owner of smokey mountain concealment just messaged me and said he will be putting the Rival-S holster for sale on thier website most likely today; he's already got several of them them going out.

My question is……is it worth 1K plus when there are already some outstanding choices in that price range?

I've shot most if not all similar striker options in this, and hundreds over that price range and this is the best I've seen by a notable margin. I think list on this is $900?. I've literally approached people with higher end strikers at the range every weekend for 2 years and ask to shoot thier guns. They're always very proud of them, so I get a yes 100% of the time. As I mentioned earlier, the only one that was better was a $5k Alien. Having a full 70 bench range every weekend has allowed me exposure to custom builds of every brand, I'm lucky to be 20 min. away.

If any THR member in the PHX valley area wants to show up on any given Saturday and test it, feel free, just msg. me in advance.

I emailed Classic Firearms last tuesday about the S not fitting well in a normal Rival OEM hoster, and I got the new holster they sent today. It works far better, I filed the wear marks about .001-.002, and now it functions like a normal Rival holster. I think I got a bad press on the first one. I can feel the trigger guard catching properly on this one.
