hello,

I am a long time Walther P99 fan and I may just end up trying out the Canik TP9-a P99 clone.

I have two separate but somewhat related questions.

Color options: od, hard chrome, black, tan, and titanium. Has anyone had a chance to see the colors in person or formed an opinion based off online images? I am equally set on the tan, hard chrome, or titanium.

Speaking on the colors, how does Cerakote hold up? It appears the grip and slide or cerakoted. Do polymer grips with cerakote discolor near the muzzle? Does cerakote protect against rust? Do you have to oil like a regular slide?

Thanks!

Wild Cat have you seen the review by Nutnfancy on youtube on the Canik...I was ready to order one in od until he talked about the 2 stage 10 pound trigger and that is something I don't think I could ever get use to .. From what I have seen Cerakote holds up well and does a good job of protecting against rust as to how long it will last depends on how well you take care of your weapon......

Thank you.

Is the trigger weight the same 10lbs in Double Action as it is in Single Action?

(I know the trigger travel is different, I am curious about the weight)

I guess I had a senior moment when I first watched the video as I though the trigger came all the way forward after each shot but it does not in fact it is almost all the way to the rear of the trigger guard and it was still a 10 pound trigger pull when the striker is set .........I might still buy one and maybe someone will make a trigger kit for it

I saw the same nutnfancy review and ordered one from jgsales (will arrive on Monday!). My take on the trigger was it was 5# to get to the cocked state, then 5# to get from there to fire, but there is also a reset that you can hold and subsequent fires are less.

See the reset in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wme503GF4FI

if you shoot it to reset as you should be
youll be thrilled with the trigger
its set up just like a Walther P99AS, which everyone raves about
first pull is DA
second is SA, which you can shoot full travel or to reset as it should be
the SA pull is 5-6 lbs and it has a very short reset
get one youll like it very much

I may grab one of these soon as well. These canik line of pistols may very well be the best new pistols for the money. I'm really liking the stingray and the tp9. I can't make up my mind which one to get first lol

ive had my tp-9 for almost 1 1/2 years and over 4k rounds
and im lusting after a Shark FC (wish they made it in .40 !)
