If I only owned one handgun and that was the only gun I owned, and I had $600, I'd buy a slightly used CZ in the $300-ish range and an 870 in the $250-range. Stretch your bucks a bit and get the 870 combo that comes with a short barrel for deer/SD and a long barrel for games.
