Well, I'll throw in my zero cents. I went, for months, pining away for a PS90 (and ultimately a matching fiveseven). It is the coolest looking gun, seemingly perfect for the range and HD, and as a left-hander, a great design for someone with my 'deformity'. Oh and did I mention that it was really cool looking too?
Anyway, the negatives that got me (most of which are relevant to most people) are:
The cost of ammo is ridiculously high. I don't know of people who are successfully reloading the ammo for it, but for it's size and complexity, it just seems wrong. And that FAL has a near-monopoly on it's manufacture (I guess others don't see the volume opportunity) doesn't favor the price coming down much any time soon;
There's too much FUD about the capability of the civilian version of the round. Some say it's a brilliant and incredibly powerful round, others say it won't make it much through a pair of jeans. I'm not one to care much about having the most powerful gun in town, but I guess I remain confused.
The gun(s) are pretty pricey. If not for the other concerns, I wouldn't mind as much but it's another strike against it.
Finally, one of the value of the gun(s) is that you can carry 50 rounds (or 30 in the handgun). Except in CA where I live. Confined to 10 rounds, it didn't seem like a good tradeoff.
Anyway, best of luck with the decision. I'm simply citing the criteria that I used. I ended up unifying my short carbine round (another criteria I had) with my handgun by going with an ATI-AT94 and my 9MM's that I already owned.
