I don't think anyone with any scruples could consider that gouging. If you marked it up 3-4x of what you paid for it... then all bets are off.
I have .22 magnum I paid $5.00 for many years ago. If the going price is $15-$20, I'm gouging if I sell it at current replacement cost?

In the ammo shortage of 08-09, there was .17 HMR and .22 magnum anytime I looked on the shelves. Not this time.

I have 22 mag NAA with the 22LR cyl. All the 22 mag does is give lot more recoil, noise, and flash . Out of these short barrels , not worth the expense. If I was going to carry for a back up or self defense. I would leave at home . I would use my Beretta 950 in 25 auto with ball . More rounds better penetration and accuracy . And if I ever needed to reload I don't have to disassemble the pistol.

NAA used to have on their site the information as to FPS and penetration in jell. You need around 4" to get the 22 mag to start moving . Remember its a rifle round.

Now there are 22wmr made for short barrel revolvers and they are more effective than 22lr. Hornady Critical Defense 22wmr claims 1000fps from a 17/8 barrel with a 45gr bullet. It is very effective on small game and I prefer it to my 25acp.

I bought a box of 50 of those at a gun show recently. I need to chrono them from my 1 5/8" Mini and my 6" Colt.

For those who think there is no, or not much, difference in .22 LR and .22 Mag from a short barreled Mini, they need to actually shoot some stuff side by side with them. Yes, it does come at the cost of a lot more flash/bang.

I was in the new Cabela's today in Thornton, CO, the only .22's on the shelf were .22 mags! Must have been 25 boxes of 50 rds, don't recall now how much, but not a single box of .22 LR ! There must have been 50 boxes of 17 cal., crazy times! The staff said they have no idea if, and when anymore .22 LR rds will come in.
