NAA Mini-Revolver ??

These velocity numbers are old (ancient, even) but they still should be valid.

Ed Matunas tested these mini revolvers for his 1984 Guns and Ammo special .22 Rimfire edition magazine.

With the NAA .22 short model, 1 1/8" barrel, he got 795 fps with a 29 grain bullet, for 41 foot pounds of energy, for 47 fpe.

With the NAA .22 LR model, 1 1/8" barrel, he got 730 fps with a 38 grain bullet, for 46 fpe.

With the NAA .22 Mag. model, 1 1/2" barrel, he got 925 fps with a 38 grain bullet, for 76 fpe.

See, now that's more what I'd expect. Not enough to make me run out and buy a .22 mag for primary carry.. Basically, any mini revolver is a last ditch and preferably contact weapon. I'll keep totin' my 9x19 for the primary, thanks. But, an NAA, in either mag or LR form and with a folding grip, makes for a good extra gun just in case. Beats throwing rocks, and it's so small and light, why NOT carry it? It is no hassle to carry.

The LR is pretty loud, but I bet that mag is REALLY loud. That's a good thing, could keep the BG's head down if you have to revert to the mini in a fire fight for some reason. He'd probably think it was a real gun. LOL
