These velocity numbers are old (ancient, even) but they still should be valid.
Ed Matunas tested these mini revolvers for his 1984 Guns and Ammo special .22 Rimfire edition magazine.
With the NAA .22 short model, 1 1/8" barrel, he got 795 fps with a 29 grain bullet, for 41 foot pounds of energy, for 47 fpe.
With the NAA .22 LR model, 1 1/8" barrel, he got 730 fps with a 38 grain bullet, for 46 fpe.
With the NAA .22 Mag. model, 1 1/2" barrel, he got 925 fps with a 38 grain bullet, for 76 fpe.
See, now that's more what I'd expect. Not enough to make me run out and buy a .22 mag for primary carry.
The LR is pretty loud, but I bet that mag is REALLY loud. That's a good thing, could keep the BG's head down if you have to revert to the mini in a fire fight for some reason. He'd probably think it was a real gun. LOL
