Carry handle mount for AR-10A2 308

I recently purchased an Armalite AR-10A2 in 308. I wan to put a scope on it but was hoping there is a cheaper alternative to the $70 A.R.M.S. mount. I have a Weaver on my Bushmaster 223, but it does not look like it will mount up. I tried a Famous Maker that I had lying around and it was too high in the front. Any suggestions would be of help.

Leupold makes a carry handle rail. IIRC, I paid $40 or $45 for it. My AR-10 has the A.R.M.S. rail, my M15 has the Leupold. The A.R.M.S. rail is steel, the Leupold is aluminum.
