How many people actually carry a full-sized handgun as their daily carry piece? (ccw)
I sometimes carry a Smith L frame 686 or a Ruger Security Six, both 4 in barrels.
I thought about carrying my new Smith 624 and see how that carries.
My usual carry piece is my Smith Shield or my Rossi 720. I'm 6'4 and 275 so I can comfortably carry these.

I carried my Mod 29 6 1/2" bbl sometimes off duty in a shoulder holster. I am 6'9". Not so much when a speed loader fell out of my top pocket onto the pool table. An old GF of mine wanted me to wear it when we did it, Hey I'm a nice gut who was I to argue.

Long time ago I carried a Rossi 971. Don’t want to tote that much weight around anymore.

I used to use a 4" GP100 for my EDC. I did that for a few years. I may even do it again at some point.

I have carried my Redhawk concealed on several occasions, but not anything close to regularly. What makes it difficult is the 5.5" barrel. What makes it easier is a Simply Rugged pancake holster. But .44 mag is just a bit much for self defense in daily circumstances. Especially as mine has sights regulated for .300gr loads.

That probably looks like a 6" M17 on you.

Did you GF call you "Harry" when you were.......?
No, she did not. One night at her place for dinner, I had come back from the bath room and noticed an odd fizzing in my wine glass.
When I questioned her about what it was, she said (it was a pill) I looked a little stressed and thought it would calm me down.
That was the last I ever heard from her, until about 7-8 years later when she called me drunk one night.

I carried a Ruger Alaskan 44MAG for one day. I could do it more with a custom holster but it’s not worth the money for me. I prefer a full size Glock with 3 times the capacity and slimmer design.

I carry my 329pd quite often. It's as good a carry gun as anything made when you are as concerned with bear/cattle/deer/ etc as people. Weighs less than most semi auto too. A scandium version of the 5 shot 44 mag would be even better.

Yes, almost every day I carry an 18 shot gun with light and red dot sight. Shorts and a T-shirt no less. I am sure it doesn't print, as I do it at offices, have had it on stage (there I was more formally dressed) and presented to a crowd of several hundred, with video, about a very not-gun topic so they'd have been shocked to find it. No problem.

It is easy as it's flat, being one of those new-fangled ones that slides back and forth instead of spinning round and round.

I have CC a 5.5" Ruger Vaquero 44 Magnum when walking my dog at night. In the evening it is difficult for anyone to notice it and I have chewed the fat with neighbors for a long time with that big hog leg strapped to my side under a loose shirt without sparking the slightest curiosity. However in daylight I believe it would have been very different.
I know a big SA revolver is not the ideal CC sidearm these days but I like it a lot and shoot it well so I feel safe with it at least in the neighborhood where I walk my dog.

The Model 629 Deluxe 3" I handled in a gun store a while back seemed very reasonable for carry. If I was ramping up money-wise for a purchase, I would have considered it. Plus, the action was butter-smooth compared to the Model 69 next to it.

In the winter, when I can wear an OWB holster under a coat, I have done it. In the summer - which is most of the year here in SoCal - I revert to IWB, and the N frame just isn't comfortable enough. So I almost always carry a K frame instead.

Years ago I had to wear a jacket and tie for work and then would go to the range right after I was done. On those days I carried my 6 inch Model 29 and had no problem concealing it under my coat.

Getting the right holster helps.

By no means my daily carry, but I do sometimes conceal carry my 6.5" Model 29 when out in the woods where there are bear around. I conceal, despite being in the woods, because I don't want to draw attention to myself from other hikers.

I carry a 4 5/8” Ruger Blackhawk flattop 44 special in a simply rugged sourdough pancake holster. I carry both iwb and owb. Owb mostly. Iwb I conceal pretty decent though. I’m 6’5” and 370 ish so I can pull it off.

I been carrying it close to a year now.

I carry a gen 5 Glock 22, prior to that a 17; this is in FL heat, and despite being in a "good area".
I'm not a revolver guy; Glock 17/22, 20/21SF > any revolver

I will add, I’ve carried various guns including smith 642, glock 22, and 1911s. The Blackhawk is the most comfortable so far, because nothing digs into me. The 642 I mostly carried owb in a floppy holster, it wasn’t as comfortable and got in the way more. A quality holster that holds the gun tight and high is paramount for comfortable carry in my opinion.

I carried a commander 1911 a while and it was a no go. The height was wrong and it pinched my butt many times in two weeks. A 5” 1911 in a Ritchie hideaway was the most comfortable combo before the Blackhawk and simply rugged combo.

Many years ago I carried a 5” S&W 629 classic in a Tex Shoemaker pancake style owb holster for a winter. It was loaded with the Federal 200 gr lead SWCHP loads my former agency allowed fir duty/off duty use.

I was able (barely!) to hide that shootin’ iron under a winter coat. Once it warmed up I went back to the Model 19 in a shoulder rig.

Stay safe.

From 1985 to 1990, my duty revolver was an N-Frame S&W Model 58, 4” barrel, and, much of the time, it was also my personal-time carry gun. The best concealment holster, from a concealability point of view, was an Eagle Industries IWB, made of high-quality nylon fabric. I also used an Assault Systems shoulder holster, occasionally. By some time in 1990, I had realized that an N-Frame is just a bit too big for my to grip properly, while also getting enough finger on the trigger, for a DA pull. My rather long hand likes the feel of an N-Frame grip, but my index finger is just not quite long enough. I still have the Model 58, enjoying its restful retirement.

The GP100, as seen in my avatar image, is a better fit, in my hands.

I'm only 5'7", 175lb, and at this very moment and all day long I carried a S&W 2.5" 686+ snubby IWB on my strong side with a speedloader on my weak side. Only a pair of Levi's jeans and a medium tshirt on. It conceals well and on my waist, I really don't notice the weight much.

I reckon if I was 6'4 or taller and over 200lb, carrying a N frame would be the equivalent.
