carrying as a correction officer?

When I was young

A cop in NY opened his door into oncoming traffic
nearly killing me (I was on a bike)
I shouted at him that NYC law mandates that you look
b/4 opening your door into oncoming traffic.
He laughed and said "I am the law" as he flashed his badge...

So basically cops are just more important and have super magical
powers of gun handling that mere citizens can not ever hope to replicate.

Thats why they can carry across state lines and wallyworld...I hope that cleared it up for you. :neener:

I have a concealed weapon permit but I was wondering if a correction officer carried the LEO title and can carry every where.
Cin, just trying to clarify something here.

First, if you have a Florida Concealed Weapon License, then you can certainly carry on that--albeit with all the restrictions it entails, like not carrying in bars and what not.

However, are you asking about LEOs carrying nationwide under HR218? If so, here's a link to the federal statute.

Florida seems to draw a distinction between LEO and CO under law.

Not a lawyer, but it seems to me the answer is no, you cannot.

You might wanna contact the Division of Licensing or FDLE. They might be able to give you an official answer, and it's possible someone has already asked them before.
