I live in Washington (the state) and have a valid CPL, and will be traveling to Michigan and am planning on taking a gun with to carry using the reciprocity agreement Michigan has with Washington.
My question being are there any laws that Michigan has that Washington doesn't have that I should be aware of?
I have done searches on the internet and everything I come across seems pretty much common sense to me. The only difference that I came a cross that is no big deal to me is that in Michigan you HAVE to inform a Officer of the law that you have a permit and gun when interacting with them. I have lived by that rule already.
Thanks for any input on this.:)

As I recall, you can't carry in hospitals, churches, stadiumsm college classrooms or dorms, or in bars. Restaurants that serve alchol are OK for carry as long as items other than alcohol make up a major portion of their income.
Sound familiar?

The Michgan AG's office or the state police website should have the info posted. I'd look both up before carrying here.

Thanks ACP230, I came across all those place that you can not carry in during my internet search. That seems like common sense to me as Washington laws are pretty dang close as far as that goes.
I did not come across the AG's office during my search though, that's the next thing I'm doing after finishing this post. Thanks for that idea!

I have traveled to MI with my WA CPL. Major differences as I recall are:

- Requirement to inform LEO on contact
- No church carry without consent of church org
- No entertain venue (2500+) carry

Otherwise, MI laws are very similiar to WA laws. As suggested, contact MI officials for details.

Probably not since we don't have that issue in WA.

Keep your blood alcohol under 0.02.

Restaurants ok--bars not.

If it looks like a bar it is a bar and no CCW. If most people are eating and an occasional patron having beer w/ dinner=ok.
