Cartridge Conversion or another BP Colt Repro

Hey yall, I am currently contemplating either getting a Colt Conversion repro in
.38spl or going with another BP gun. I have a Pietta 1851 Navy, and have always wanted an 1860 Army. I'm looking for some insight as to which to go with. I've always heard good things about an Uberti. So I'm looking at around $450 to $500 for a 1871/1872 conversion or around $250-$350 for an Uberti BP 1860. Any insight would be greatly appreciated?

It depends if you want to shoot a C&B revolver or a cartridge revolver. I have both and use them for different reasons. Shooting a Richards conversion of the 1860 is no different than shooting a Model P. Load, sight, squeeze, reload. Using the C&B is a bit longer process. For most, the conversion gets shot a lot more than the C&B because of that. When I go out, it is not a matter of firing 50 or 100 rounds, 1 or 2 cylinders, that hit the target, are all I need.

Everyone should have an 1860 or two, IMO.

However, conversions are supercool.

Buy both.

Seconded. I thought there was nothing cooler than muzzle loading rifles, muskets and smoothbores as well as absolutely nothing cooler than cap and ball pistols...until I started loading and shooting black powder cartridges in both rifles and pistols.

Wait, what are we talking about here??? The 1871-1872 Open Top model, which is a dedicated cartridge gun and not a conversion? Or an 1860 Richards or Richards-Mason cartridge conversion?
