For whatever reason, I've taken very few pics of my percussion guns and cartridge conversions. Got a new sixgun for my birthday and decided it was time for a family photo of my topless Colt replicas. Notably absent is my Cimarron 1871-1872 Open Top, which is at the engraver as we speak. Everybody else is present and accounted-for. Now I need some Remingtons. ;)

Clockwise from top center: Uberti 1849 Pocket .31, Pietta 1860 "Sheriff" .44, Pietta 1851 London .36, Pietta 1851 .44, Uberti 3rd Dragoon with Kirst gated conversion .45Colt, Pietta 1860 Army .44 and Cimarron 1860 Richards Type II .44Colt.

The Dragoon dwarfs the 1849.

Pietta Navy London model. This is a late model Pietta and these are really nice sixguns.

The 1849 was a gift from my wife last Christmas.

45 Dragoon

just so you know, there's a pic of my Dragoon with the wedge cut flush for fitting an ejector (in the Colt clone/copies thread). Trying to get in my head how I want to mount the tube. Might run a couple of ideas by you and get your take on um. We seem to have good taste!!

beautiful!

awesome picture, definitely drool worthy but why foul it up with remmies?:D
colts all the way!
seriously nice pistols, gonna pull the trigger on one of my own tomorrow, finally after 2 years of scheming, reading and talking myself out of it, finally gonna do it!
picts like this help me rationalize such decisions:D
Regards
Gene

It looks like the London model Pietta navy has the more authentic shaped grip. Did that come with it or it is a custom grip? The reason I ask is the Pietta Navies have a very different grip than the originals and I do not like the feel of them so I have avoided the Piettas for that reason. The ASM & Ubertis have the traditional SAA grip and have a better balance. I was just wondering if Pietta had "seen the light" and resculpted their grips.

CraigC, apparently my wife needs to talk to your wife! Her ph # is 48. ... ....:)

....well I do believe that you are turning to the dark side!??

Too bad you don't know someone that could make some fine holsters for those sixguns.

You definately need both a long and short Remington '58. ({ahem} strictly for holster patterns of course)

happy bday

Thanks for the kind words guys.

The all-steel 1851/1861 London models are the only versions they make without the pronounced tail. Then they screw it up by doing something weird with the grips. Looks like the top of the grip is too narrow and the middle is swelled out. Feels all wrong to me. Because of this, I actually find the pimp version more comfortable in the hand.

Yep, I think she's a keeper. She knows what makes me happy and all I have to do is point her in the right direction. We've only been married two years and I'm slowly working on her education in gunology.

I know, it's a bummer but I'm sure I'll get through it. ;)

Of course. ;)

I'm a Colt man at heart but I looked at some of the new Pietta Remingtons at Dixie Gun Works recently and they're really nice sixguns. For some reason I find myself wanting the stainless steel version and plan on building enough Cabela's Club Visa points to pay for one. :D

My Pietta Remingtons are sweet shooters.
I have the 8" and the 5.5" versions.
Very nice sixguns, cuz.
BTW, I got that 586.
I think I'm a Smith fan now.
It only took a J frame, a K frame, and an L frame bot become one.
Mostly the L frame.

I think you'll like the Pietta Remingtons.
The 5.5" handles very nicely.
I know a lot of people don't like the balance of the 8" Remington, but I do.
