I have a Hornady case gauge in 6.5 Creedmoor.
I have no doubt it is in spec, but made to the bottom side of the spec.
Cases that won't fit the gauge easily chamber in my rifle.
Does anyone know if someone manufactures gauges to the upper end of the spec?

the case gauges are made to the larger/longer end of the specs. which is still smaller/shorter than the smaller/shorter chamber specs. your chamber is, more than likely, at the larger/longer end of the chamber specs.

Case guages are normally made to Sami minimum spec to ensure ammunition fits in all chambers. They do not make them for your gun.

Most cartridhe gauges have a high and low step on the top of the gauge. Minimum and maximum. This is most times about .015" tolerances.

I can not find the Hornady instruction sheet online. Most brands check head to datum measurement. Others like Lyman also check body diameters.

The diameter of the gauge is SAAMI min chamber spec, which is larger than the max spec of the cartridge.

If your reloads dont fit the gauge, they are larger then factory ammo. (SAAMI).

I want fire formed brass, not factory sized brass.

The firearms chamber is the real gauge.

This area is not going to get sized back to factory, SAAMI specifications. If expanded from repeated reloading, its may not fit a gauge.

This why some brass fired in an old guns chamber will not fit into a new guns chamber using the old brass.
