so i got a 2die set of Hornady custom grade 300blackout dies but every time i try to use the resize and decap die the case gets stuck so i then have to take the die apart to get the case out . Yes im lubing the cases. Dose anyone know whats happening or had a similer problem? pleas leave a comment.

yes the casees are coming out of the shell holder by trearing the rim off the case.

they get completly stuck inside the die

It sounds like whatever lube you're using is failing to do it's job. I would try a different lube, and make sure the inside of the die is also lubed before trying the first case after removing a stuck one.

Hope this helps.

i'm using Hornady one shot case lube
....Okay.... (and you're not the first to have this problem w/ 1-Shot) :banghead:

I'll cut to the chase:
Go get RCBS Case Lube and use that.

It will be night and day. :D

I make my own pretty cheaply.

Bought 91% rubbing alcohol at the drug store, and a bottle of pure liquid lanolin from amazon (the cheapeast I could find).

Mix in about 12:1 alcohol to lanolin ratio (or 10:1 works too). I used a shot glass for the lanolin for 1oz, then poured twelve ounces of alcohol in a cheap spray bottle from the grocery store.

This lasts a long time. If it separates, just shake to mix it thoroughly.

Spray the cases in a Ziploc bag or some tall plastic container you don't care about, agitate, good to go.

I use what stonecutter2 uses. It works great. I think I read somewhere that it's the same as Dillon's case lube.

The spray lube I use (dillon and similar to the above concoction) requires the cases sit for a little while for the solvent to evaporate. Does One Shot require this?

Go get RCBS Case Lube and use that with the RCBS pad. You will for the next 40 plus years.
No lanolin in your local drug store? Just curious.

I'm still using the lube I got from Herters back in the 70s. Came in a little glass jar. Not stuck one yet OR I just don't remember. Bad to get old

Well thanks everybody im going to get that rcbs lube and hopefully that fixes my problem. If not i'll let yall know

You can also place a small amount of the RCBS in a ziplock bag add the shell cases and spray some of the one shot in the bag. At that point you roll the bag around in your hands. If you need to quit and start again the next day just roll the bag brass around and start resizing. I do this when I'am loading a 100 or more rifle rounds.

You might want to also check the expander and the die for galling, that can cause a repeat stuck case.

I'm no expert on this, as I've only just stuck my first case in 30+ years of reloading, and I almost stuck a second one because of galling left behind on the expander plug. I cleaned it up with some 0000 steel wool and some low abrasive polishing compound, smooth as silk now.

im useing hornady one shot case lube

We need to have a sticky somewhere at the top of the reloading forum cautioning against using One Shot! It happened to me once and after I got the round out I never used it again. Wouldn't you know it, I have never had a stuck case again either. I use imperial sizing wax. Cost is about $7 per tin and lasts a lifetime.

One Shot works just fine as long as you follow the instructions and let it dry. I have resized thousands of bottle neck casings with it and never stuck a case. I am also pretty liberal with the application. I usually fill the bottom of a pie tin with casings, give them a good coating, stir them around, then do it again, then wait a while. Overall much faster than the old lube pad. That said, it is getting pretty expensive.

I use Lee lube, mixed with alcohol. When doing 223 cases, I'll put a bunch in old ammo trays, standing up, make sure I get some spray into the necks. Haven't had a single stuck case since.

You're not letting the One Shot dry first before putting the cases in the press are you?

I use Hornady Unique case lube, it works great. But, if you want to see something slick, try putting a little synthetic motor oil on a case. I have seen 6 dry cases sized following one with synthetic motor oil.

Feeeeeeel your cases as you start to resize. Every case I have had try to stick, I could feel the sticky before it got in so far as to pull the shell holder off. Take it out, apply a little Imperial and go again. In my experience, .308 is the worst; don't know why... I use the RCBS spray and the plastic bag; about 10 minutes drying time.

Remember: in handloading as in romance, "If it don't fit, don't force it."
