Are cases for 6.5 Grendel generally this hard to find, or is it shortage related? I used to see ammo everywhere for it, but now I don’t see it anywhere. I guess I could always convert some 7.62x39, but that presents its own set of issues.

Anybody got a good line on once fired 6.5 Grendel brass?

everything is in demand right now .308 5.56/.223 take precedence and are made 1st and at a much higher Volume 9mm is the same for pistol I love the 6.5 Grendel I have a bolt action (527) and an AR I’m a huge 6.5 fan but as far as a good source of once fired brass no I don’t have one and I don’t like the idea of working down 7.62x39 for me I don’t have near enough but what I do have is starline and I enjoy it I need to get more that’s for sure and when things get closer to normal I plan on it probably buy 1,000 or more pieces for it and several other cartridges

Starline is not currently taking back orders, and all I can find (and not much of that) is Lapua at a premium price.

I’ve seen some Nosler around again at a premium price you could always buy a few boxes of ammo for the brass

I have always ran factory Hornady and had cores. It’s fairly plentiful to get the Hornady black. My local Columbia SC academy sports, always has it in stock.

my experience is with a bolt gun not an ar. i resize range
pick up one fired brass 7.62 x 39 cases. use starting loads. works fine. i do have 6.5 grendel brass but like hoarding them, lol.

Natchez Shooters Supply has 6.5 Grendel Nosler brass in stock but it’s expensive. About $1.95 each. Page 4
Arm or Ally has 50 count Nosler for $123 per 50. Wow
Better deal to buy loaded ammo such as Hornady Black from dealers like Budsgunshop and reload the brass. Less than the cost of new premium brass cases.

It pops up from time to time. If you are truly desperate, Nosler Premium is generally available for $2 ea. I can attest that it is good stuff, perhaps made by Norma?

Otherwise be vigilant. Starline did do a run 4 or 5 months ago. Nosler put discounted "factory seconds" on Shooters Pro Shop exactly the same day. Coincidence?

Lurk on the 6.5 Grendel Forum. Someone there will be the first to know.

I haven't seen Lapua since I started looking last fall.

Horsemen61, you apparently haven't tried to buy 6.5 G ammo lately, it almost doesn't exist except for Wolf steel cased.

OP, here's the best price you're likely to find on 6.5G right now.

Thanks. I’ll give those a look.

I just bought a 100 pieces from them.

I got a couple questions for you on resizing if you don’t mind. Do you have any issues with any particular head stamps not sizing correctly? And once fired, do the cases have the same capacity as regular Grendel brass?

the brass i got was from deer hunting sight in. a lot of the younger guys on a budget used sks rifles but with soft point ammo. headstamps were pmc, hornady, prvst, sellior and beloit.
after firing they seem to fill out. i use a starting load with 335. i am sure that case capacity would not be as much as grendel so the starting load makes sense.
i havent loaded ammo for max velocity since i was a young man. always felt i get/have a bigger gun rather than hot rod a smaller cartridge.....bobn

I've bought some from a local ammo shop, GA ARMS, they seem to have some in stock every time I stop in. They also do a lot of gun shows, if you check their site they list where they will be. The last time I was there they had 200pcs of 6arc, a big box of Grendel and Creedmoor brass.
