I have read reports of galling problems on another thread, admitted to by the head Caspian guru himself. But I despair of finding one of their alloy frames so am forced to consider; What say you that have actually built and owned a gun with a Caspian Ti frame? TF

i dont know anything about caspian frames but i have machined ALOT of titanium and cant see how it could be a good material to put in a firearm

Do you have a line one of these frames. I had heard they are no longer making them as Ruger stopped doing Ti castings.

Ti frame;

Oh wow...
No, I assumed that since Caspian were still listing them they were still available. I talked to them last summer as late as July and they still were, with a 3-6 wk wait. I had only recently (about the time I posted) taken up the idea of building one again and hadn't done more than look at the website...
1911 SC I guess...(Though an old Colt LW Commander is looking better and better...)

cheers, TF
