All commercial cast bullets that I know of are bevel based which is what high volume casting machines turn out, correct? Individuals who cast their own buy hand casting molds and they turn out flat, square based bullets with sharp bottom edges.
I have shot plenty of them both and from my experience the square base bullets are noticeably more accurate when you are shooting 25 yards and beyond, especially beyond. The difference really shows up in 357 and 44 Magnums.
Does anyone else have this opinion?

Absolutely, 100%

The trade off for "ease of seating" ( which is the spin on why bevel based bullets are "better") is accuracy.

Bevel based bullets fall much more easily from the moulds, often without "knocking" which is why they are preferred for automated casting systems.

Flat base molds are available from Magma, but I've found that a lot of casual reloaders don't like them, claiming they're harder to seat on their progressive machines. I have both flat and bevel base molds for my casting machines and I load them all.

If you're interested in what molds are offered for commercial casters, look here: http://www.magmaengineering.com/ Look at the drop down for bullet molds.

Hope this helps.
