My father recently got himself a very nice custom-built Caspian 1911. It's a commander length model with an accessory rail. His birthday is coming up and I would like to get him a nice leather CC holster, but I'm having a hard time finding any that will fit the rail. Any suggestions?

My son and I build an inside the waist CC holster for his IWI .45 Jericho. It came out sweet.. basically you purchase the leather backing, and a piece of Kydex. (Don't know it that's the correct spelling. Anyway, you just heat up this plastic like materiel, then cover the weapon with some tinfoil.. the heated Kydex comes out of the oven very flexible and is placed over the weapon and you press down all round the edges. In about 30 seconds it cools and is a perfect outer mold. This is trimmed with protruding edges that are screwed to the leather backing. The results are amazing. I'm sure someone on the board can give you more information, but you might find more if you google Kydex holster. Check this link and you'll see the lower IWB I described.

IWB holster

I highly reccomend the Cross Breed supertuck, check them out and you won't be sorry you did. I wear mine 16 pluss hours a day and is the most comfortable holster I have ever tryed.
Good luck

Thanks, after a lot of research I went ahead and ordered a Crossbreed supertuck for him. It's not as fancy-looking as I would have liked, but everywhere I go people are saying it's the most comfortable IWB holster available. I figure it doesn't matter what it looks like if he'll actually wear it.
