I bought (2) 100 round boxes of CCI mini mags hp at walmart for $7.47 each and could have bought more if I walked out and walked back in. Maybe things ARE getting better.

I bought 300 rd. Minimag bulk pack for 22 bucks on the 18th. Got yelled at for not buying more. Seems high and seems to be dropping. I will wait it out a bit more.

Thats a good price but a little high. But all things are now going to the roof. Nothings cheap.

MagnunJoe:

I've seen .22 at Bass behind the counter consistently over at Dolphin Mall.....

Academy Sport (Aiken SC) had Remington Golden Bullets 325 pack for $23 after tax, at Christmas. I found out about it on Saturday night, after closing time. Was told they still had 150 packs. Went in Monday morning, "all sold out".

We have a local "cartel" of retired men who gang rush Wal Mart, Academy, and any other place that sells .22LR. They know when the ammo comes in, and they're there at opening time, and buy it all. It's been happening ever since Sandy Hook, and shows no signs of letting up. They resell it on line, and double-or-triple their investment. Looks like I'll have to go out of town to find more .22LR.

$7.47/100 for CCI seems high.

lolwhat?

No, not at all.

BTW, "CCI" is a pretty generic term as they have many different rounds. $7.47/100 for CCI Mini Mags is a good price. Very good considering the current .22lr situation.

$7.47 for 100 rounds of CCI Mini-Mags is the pre-Sandy Hook price here in upstate NY. Not that I can find any, but I'd buy all I could at that price. As far as I'm concerned, that's a normal pre-shortage price! I don't have a lot of good things to say about Wal-Mart, but if they are not gouging the ammo prices, that's one nice thing to say.

That is the pre-shortage price. It is a very good price. Heck, that might be a 2011 price.

The local farm supply had 100 round boxes of 40 grain mini mag CCI.

Box limit was 4.

Snagged all 4, then came back later on in the day and got 4 more. Came back the next morning and lo and behold, about a dozen boxes left so I got 4 more. Came back AGAIN after supper and they were all gone.

Still, 1,200 mini mags are now mine. Always looking for more, these are great for squirrel.

Since I tried CCI .22 LR Quiet , i m beginning to like it so much. Very accurate at 15 yrds with a muffled sound. No need for a silencer on a rifle.

Assuming you shot them in a common barrel length, they are even quieter in a CZ Ultra Lux.

I have seen up 22 ammo with much greater frequency over the last six months mostly priced from 6¢-8¢ per round.
Many of the larger chains horde the ammo deliveries and save it for the "Sale Promo" days when they presume people will also purchase other goods. Gander MT. is famous for this but at least is getting out there.
My local Walmart has absolutely everything but 22 on the shelf and those deliveries are very spotty at best.
