I don't believe there are legal issues with carrying in your own business in any jurisdiction in the U.S. New York and D.C. might be iffy.

If your business is in certain secure areas, ports, etc., it may not be illegal to carry in your business, but you can't get a gun to your business because it is in a secured facility in which the firearm would be illegal. For example, you could be a private vendor inside and airport terminal. In other situations, you could be a private vendor in a federal courthouse.

I cc every day at work only had one customer ever comment and
she was retired cop. Noticed a bulge and grip outline on my
Glock 36.
We also leave a 870 with extended mag in plain sight at our
parts counter, lots of people see it and I've never heard a
negetive comment about it. It's not loaded although rounds
are quickly avail.
Also have a LCR 38 in hiding.

I worked part time in a Bait & Tackle shop for a while and carried concealed all the time . the owner was a friend and kept a .38 special under the register and a 12 gauge in the back on the wall ! At one time every business on the street had been robbed with the exception of the shop! Kevin

Regards the "truckers can't carry" myth: professional drivers are subject to the same laws as anyone else in whatever jurisdiction we travel in. There are no special restrictions on us, including haz-mat drivers. Within the law, FOPA and multi-state CCW permits make it relatively easy for a professional driver to go legally armed. On private property, customer relations and the laws of the local jurisdiction are very real considerations but it is well to remember that "concealed means concealed," and that getting caught by a property owner and getting caught without a weapon when one is really needed can be very different things.

I drive it legally, I log it as I drive it: that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :D
