My Land's End fleece jacket has inside chest pockets that perfectly hold my S&W 340PD in a DeSantis Nemesis holster.

It's like a built-in shoulder rig, plus it is warm and water repellant. Price: $39.99

I place the holstered gun in the left-side chest pocket, so that I can draw it with my right hand.

The inside chest pockets (left and right) are made of a nylon-type material that is strong, and it does not print my revolver.

I have carried this set-up all over town with no one ever noticing it, and I am skinny and often have a hard time concealing. I have asked friends to spot the gun on me, and they can't do it.

Very interesting and thanks for posting.

Does it cause the jacket to sag at all or is the pocket part of a liner in the jacket?

I agree. I used to buy nothing but Land's End because, at one time, nearly all of it was made in the US. Now, nearly none of it is made here. But even though the quality has dropped some, the quality of other goods has dropped even more. I just bought a pair of Lee jeans because Sears didn't have the Land's Ends jeans I wanted. I can't believe how shallow they've made the pockets! Things in my pockets feel like they're ready to fall out. And it seems like anything made of decent material and construction cost as much or more than Land's Ends clothes. So I still buy their stuff, but it sure aint like it used to be.

The pocket is a part of the liner. It will sag a tad, but it is not noticeable, and I really don't even notice that it is there. The 340 in scandium-alloy is really light. I can't vouch for how well the fleece will do with the heavier J frames.

I often find myself patting it after loading groceries in the trunk or other bending, just to make sure it is there. Always is. It really works well.

This is an interesting idea (sez the SW 642 owner).

For a few bucks, a fleece-familiar seamstress could modify virtually any fleece (or other top layer garment) with a pocket deep enough to carry a pocket holster hostered revolver.

Nice idea. Gonna look into it.

Like the idea, but here in Houston I could wear this maybe 6-10 days a year without sweating enough to print the gun :)

Land's End's quality has gone downhill quite a bit since it was bought by Sears. It used to be the most convenient way to buy lots of stuff.

I think it actually started a little before Sears took it over, sadly. Its not really just Land's End either, of course, but seems more noticeable with them than LL Bean, maybe, which has also gone downhill on at least some things and has way more foreign made stuff. Its a sad trend for many different brands, as referenced in the Abercrombie and Filson thread *sigh*. I used to buy quite alot of Land's End stuff, but the list gets smaller and smaller all the time, alas.:(

I've got the same jacket (different color) and the inside pocket is perfect for a 642.
