The gun that I carry most often as a CCW is a Glock 26 (loaded with Federal 115 grain +P+ JHP). However, there are several other guns that I carry from time to time and as situations warrant, as well. I call my various carry guns my "remuda", and they include a Taurus 85CH 2" .38, a Glock 22, a Bersa .380 and a 3" Ruger SP-101 .357. And no, I've never had a problem switching mentally between their various "manual of arms". I was curious to know how many others here have a CCW remuda, and how many use only one dedicated carry gun.

I had to google, only to find that "remuda" is a cowboy word that most people have never heard.

I have several guns that can be carried.

The problem with switching mentally between various "manual of arms" usually only occurs when one is under severe stress and hombre is about to defecate into their pants.
I use only one handgun S&W 457 with first shot being DA as I never use safety other then as de-cocking lever. Fine motor skills go bye-bye under severe stress so safety devices and extra levers can become the kiss of death.

Haha. I knew what a Remuda was, but I've been listening to western music since I was a kid. :D

I have one, of sorts. My normal, every day carry is a S&W 3913, in 9mm. However, I also have a S&W 637, .38 Special +P, which I carry in my pocket occasionally, like when I take the dog out for the last time at night.

I just today purchased an XD .45 Compact, so that'll be working it's way into the rotation once I've had a chance to test it out thoroughly.

Different guns for different days, and dress codes, etc. However, all my guns are capable of double-action fire. I don't want to have to mess around with external safeties. Each and every gun I ever carry will be able to be pulled out and fired immediately.

My two carry guns, my wife's carry gun, and our nightstand gun all share the same manual of arms. I like to keep things simple.

Same here.
Guns for serious business have no safety or a swipe-down-to-shoot safety, swiping the thumb down on a safety-free gun doesn't hurt anything.

I carry in the same spot in the same holster (Crossbreed supertuck) or an all-kydex model set up to mimic the CB ST (SharkTac) and in the same condition (round in chamber, swipe down and pull trigger for bang)

Guns that have a "up-for-bang" safety don't get put into service for serious purposes, nothing wrong with the design, I've just spent too much time drilling in the muscle memory for the other style.

Same here, I just stick to DA wheel guns. I have several in my carry rotation. Some I shoot a bit better than others, while others are more concealable or easy to carry. So I choose based on the clothing I'll be wearing, the environment I'll be in, how my lower back is doing (heavy S&W Model 28 or airweight 642), etc.

Id actually like to add another gun to my CCW remuda soon, a sub-sub compact like a Ruger LCP .380, a Kel-Tec P32 .32 ACP or an NAA .22 Mag. mini-revolver, for use as a BUG or to carry when I just can't pack anything larger.

I stick with the 1911 pattern, and typically carry my STI Shadow, but I have carried most of my 1911s at one point or another. Even though I have a favorite, I guess you could call this my "remuda."

I agree with this...

I was thinking the same as I read the op....actually I was thinking "how do you know "I've never had a problem switching mentally between their various "manual of arms"."? ..but same point basically.
I've never had a carry gun rotation, I carry the same gun in the same place all the time.

ecause I've practiced drawing and firing each of the various guns from concealment, and because when I'm carrying a particular gun my mindset is fixed on that gun. The only one that has a manual safety is the Bersa. No less an authority than Massad Ayoob carries a variety of weapons for ccw (no, I'm not comparing my skill set to his, just using him as an example that using a variety of ccw weapons is not necessarily a bad idea or tactic ) and I feel wholly comfortable with any of my various ccw handguns.

I guess you could say I have a remuda - no Colts, though. Every gun in the remuda is point, squeeze, bang. No manual safeties, no DA/SA triggers. Just plain simple.

Remuda.
I like to carry the biggest pistol I can get away with, given my outfit for the day.
Several pistols in the rotation.

Only two now. sp101 dao 357 with CT laser grip and Trijicon front sight, and a XDm 40 3.8 with Tru Glow night sights. All depends on what i'm wearing, usually the lil Ruger.

G27RR- Your picture gives me hope to wake up each day to live long enough just so i can eventually obtain a collection like that.

I have a 3 gun ccw selection, small, medium and large.
Kahr MK9 bug for speedo's and back pocket duty.
RIA 3.5" CS Officers in .45 for IWB carry.
PT1911 5" in .45 as the large gun for OWB.

I tried doing ccw with only one gun and i found that can only be done with a really small gun if you want to carry 24/7.
Plus i also enjoy shooting my guns and since i really only carry the .45acp round shooting a small gun in that caliber sucks if you do it alot.

Id love to buy another 1911, But since im on a limited income i need to be able to justify a guns purpose in order to buy one. If it holds no real purpose besides being fun most likely i wouldn't buy it.

I had to look up remuda.

Per wiwki for you that don't want to look this up:
Remuda is a herd of horses from which ranch hands select their mounts. The word is of Spanish-American derivation, for "change of horses".

If I'm on a horse there's likely only one or two I'd carry. But yes I suppose most of us have a stable/herd of weapons to choose from.

Would you be wearing a cowboy hat too?
I know id have to wear my chaps as those are so kool, I always look stupid wearing them when i don't own a horse or a Harley.
