I use quite a few guns from time to time for CCW.

The ones that I use most often are a Glock 26 and a Taurus 85CH .38. After that comes a Glock 22 and a Ruger 3" Sp101.

But from time to time I also (for things like walking the dog, etc.) might choose to carry a Ruger P97 or P95, a Bersa Thunder .380, a Davis O/U .32 ACP caliber derringer, or even a 4" Ruger Gp100 or Springfield 1911A1.

So, I guess, all told, there are ten guns currently in my CCW "remuda".

How many guns are in yours?

huh I am surprised to hear that people use multiple guns for ccw.

I just have one.

I thought that was the point, familiarity etc.

To each his own of course.

I've never had a problem with familiarity, or with switching from one style to another, even from auto to revolver. I just naturally adapt to whatever I'm carrying or using.

And these:

(CS45/LWS380)

And these:

(HK P2000sk/P7)

But ALWAYS, at least one of these:

And for those days when only a wheelgun will do,

One of these:

Or, if not one of the above, one of my others.. ;)

Mainly, but subject to change at owner's whim, Ruger P97, Taurus 85 and an old scuffed and dinged model 10 S&W that just keeps on ticking.
FWIW, I've never had a problem switching from one gun to another.:)

Mainly just my Kahr PM9, my Glock 17 does make an appearance every once in a while. My 4" GP100 only when I am feeling frisky.

most often carried: Glock 23, Colt LW commander, J frame (depending on dress, the largest gun w/ the best holster combo for that clothing choice is what I carry)

Hunting and generally out in the woods, I prefer a 38 or a 357. Easier to save my brass if I'm plinking and I own better OWB holsters for my revolvers. (silly, but hey, can't afford good IWB and OWB holsters for all guns)

S&W 638, S&W 620, Kimber Gov't Model. All you need, nothing you don't.

Doesn't mean I'm not still looking to add to 'em, though, if only for those days I feel eccentric ;)

Thanks..

I don't have the "grip safety" model 40 J frame any longer... I came down with HK P7 fever last year and had to "thin the herd" somewhat to finance three of them, and I let the model 40 go to a gentleman who wanted it wayyy badder than I did.

Truthfully, 99% of the time my only cc pistol is my LWS380, altho recently since I discovered the assisted opening knives I'll clip a Kershaw Shallot or ProTech Ciabatta to my pocket.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

Three, currently

Belt guns: Glock 19 primary, CZ PCR Compact secondary. (Having owned the Glock longer, I have more carry gear for it, and it also has night sights. I also believe you should have a replacement for your main gun in case of disabling breakage or impoundment in the aftermath of a shooting.) Pocket gun: Kahr PM9.

3 guns:
Compact
Subcompact
Mouse

Pretty well covers however/wherever I need to carry.

#1 Charles Daly Govt1911.45 ACP.
#2 Ruger SP101.357 Magnum.
#3 Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan .44Mag ( carried with .44 Specials)
#4 Detonics Combat Master sub- compact 1911.45 ACP.
#5 Ruger P345. .45ACP.
#6 For those very discreet times Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm.

Actually, I think I need to add a couple guns to my remuda, either a Ruger LCP or KelTec P32, and a Glock 19 or 23. Hmmm....

I use 2 both 1911. winter government 1911 OWB under heavy jackets. Summer, fall, spring i use a commander 1911 in IWB

Cold months, Glock 19. Warm/hot months, PF-9

My Glock 19 doubles as open carry/SHTF backup. Unlike others, I don't care to own a bunch of different pistols, as I'd rather have the money go towards long guns instead. Easier to just train that way, too

Primary carry guns
1 S&W 57
2 S&W 657
3 S&W 19 4"
4 S&W 19 2.5"
5 S&W M&P 45
6 S&W M&P 45 Compact
7 S&W 15

Backup guns
1 S&W 642
2 S&W 37
3 S&W M&P 9c
4 Kel-Tec P32

I rotate between three on a fairly regular basis, depending largely on what I am wearing and what part of town I am in.

Kahr K40 sees the most use.
Smith Model 60 I carry sometimes.
Mauser Hsc if I want something a bit smaller.

I've never had a problem with familiarity, or with switching from one style to another, even from auto to revolver. I just naturally adapt to whatever I'm carrying or using.

Really? How did you test this?

If I never shoot Gun "A" or Gun "B" then it doesn't matter which one I carry.......until I have to draw and shoot it really fast and really accurate under the stress of defending my life. THEN I might discover that maybe I wasn't as good with one as I was with the other.

In fact, I proved that to myself today.
