I sometimes carry my wife's KelTec P3AT with the little belt clip when I need something REALLY concealable.

Any time you are carrying without the trigger guard covered, it is advisable to at least carry "Israeli", meaning without one in the chamber (or next cylinder of a revolver). Yeah your gun might still slip out when carrying gangster, but at least when you go to grab it you won't blow your boys away.

My brother-in-law refuses to use a holster. He always carries 'gangsta' and will not listen to any of my suggestions. He doesn't even wear a belt, so his mode of carry is even less reliable. One time while in a grocery store, it fell out as he approached the checkout counter. He sheepishly apologized and was embarrassed, but still will not carry using a holster. I have tried this around the home just to see his viewpoint (with an unloaded weapon), but still prefer an IWB holster with quick clips to easily and quickly attach to my belt.

I am not aware of any legal ramifications to carrying without a holster.

ya i know i dont carry like that offen just late night runs to the corner market when i dont feel like strapping up
thanks for the advice

It only takes once to kill yourself. You can bleed out of your femoral artery very quickly.

Here's some evidence of why it's not a good idea:

Mike's brand holsters are very reasonably priced and work very well considering their price point. I think I bought mine for less than $20. For quick store runs, I'd suggest you get a clip style or paddle. They slip right on in about the same amount of time as donning the firearm "mexican" style.

Plus, you won't be tipping the world off you're carrying a firearm because you're adjusting your pants all the time because it simply moves around a lot and needs constant attention because it won't stay put.

Sorry, no help here regarding legality of carrying with or w/o a holster.
