Don't get me started %#%@!! Pit Bulls

A few months back My daughter used her CCW a SW 649 to shoot and Kill a Red Pit Bull that was attacking, the dog had already killed several of her farm animals, the bad part he had came back for seconds.
:fire: His first visit he had killed several more animals but made it home before she got there from work.:fire:

:cuss::cuss:The county was suppose to pick up and destroy the animal but did not, N they had over a month of calls from us asking when they were going to do their job!:cuss::cuss: Now my girl is out over 10 grand worth of show animals due to the negligence of several county employees and one POS neighbor!:fire::fire:

New rule on the farm if I see a dog running loose, and that is any dog it is SSS!:what:

I have yet to see an article where a CCW was forced to kill a Lab, Poodle or Chihuahua

There was one a few months ago, a guy in Oregon (elderly man, that type, no offense to older THR's) wasted (multiple shot I think need article reference) a poodle or some other small breed that was on his property the cops were upset as well as the owners (small ones that attack you could drop kick) and he was in serious legal trouble. There was a battle here over whether he was right or not.

Regardless I find that he used .380 very interesting. any info where he hit the dog?

maybe other breeds but not pits. pits are breed for fighting. no matter how much love they get you cant totally take the fight out of 1. .
More ignorance about Pits.

when i was younger my uncle got a pit pup. me an that dog were always playing. i could do anything and it would only lick me. then 1 day i walked out to pet it, before i even touched the dog it knocked me down and i now have several scars on my scalp from where its teeth raked my skull
Playing rough is your fault.

I will be the first one to say any Pit that displays aggression towards people should be put down as they are dangerous. They have been bred for two things over 1000's of years.

1. To fight other dogs.

If they won't fight they are culled. You CAN NOT make a dog fight against a determined opponent if it does not want to. Period. You CAN NOT train a dog to fight if it does not have the will. It will only get mean. Pits are not trained to fight. They are conditioned so they will be in good shape when they do.

2. To be good with people.

They are in a pit with in close contact with two handlers and a referee. They are under duress. They must be good with people under the most trying circumstances. If they show aggression towards people they are culled.

This is why well bred pure blooded Pits are so good with people and why some of them will attack other animals almost on sight.

I stand by what I said earlier about the ignorance of some folks who bad mouth Pits in general and quote the medias BS about Pits. The media hates Pits as much as they hate guns.

I have been around 100's of Pits in my life. I have also been around 100's of 1/2 breed so called "Pits" who are a disgrace to the breed. I have been around the moronic owners of these dogs who want them "mean" and who fancy themselves having a real Pit that could pass the test of real "dog men" who break the law and fight Pits for real.

I have not been around folks who do so in 30 plus years, but I know a well bred dog when I see one and I know the difference between that and a curr mutt passed off as a Pit.

I am tired of "Pits are bad threads". Lets talk about guns or drop it. Hello Mods

This was not the first time Trouble had caused trouble.

One of my favorites was when the sheriff's dept and animal control came to my house because my pit bull got loose. Granted, Jake was a buff dog, healthy, well defined, but he only weighed about 25lbs. Dont know if that was typical weight for a rat terrier or not.

:D

Come now. Everyone knows rat terriers are ruthless killing machines bred for the pit!

And of course the Dachshund is a killing machine custom designed to take on Badgers!

Don't get me started on the GSD, a WEAPON of MASS DESTRUCTION from the great war that can rip a man's head clean off. And if that weren't bad enough they were ALLIES of HITLER! How can such animals ever be trusted with OUR CHILDREN!? One minute they're playing fetch, the next thing your kids are GOOSE STEPPING into HOLLAND!

And to really make my point I'm going to add some EMOTICONS :cuss::cuss::cuss::banghead::fire::fire::what::what:

Most all dog breeds were bred for some purpose originally, even lap dogs. I imagine most were bred for hunting, guarding, or fighting of some sort.

As a kid, I had hound dogs with no pit in them whatsoever that would attack most any other animal. Not a good trait really.

Dog & Gun --> Dogs

And so, it is with a heavy heart that I must now move this thread to the Dog Fanciers Forum portion of THR.
