The wife and I were shopping there last night and I noticed the sign had been cut in half, removing the writing about Ohio's laws and only leaving the picture of the gun with a slash through it.

Tom, your copy of 2923 is either incomplete or out of date. 2923 now contains all the law concerning concealed carry.

2923.126 division (C)(3):
The owner or person in control of private land or premises, and a private person or entity leasing land or premises owned by the state, the United States, or a political subdivision of the state or the United States, may post a sign in a conspicuous location on that land or on those premises prohibiting persons from carrying firearms or concealed firearms on or onto that land or those premises. A person who knowingly violates a posted prohibition of that nature is guilty of criminal trespass in violation of division (A)(4) of section 2911.21 of the Revised Code and is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.

The other day I was in the Fashion Bug looking for a Blazer type jacket to wear while wearing my new carry gun, an XD40. After trying on just about everything in the store a sales woman came up to me and asked if she could help. I told her what I was looking for any why and she said, without batting an eye, that all she had was form fitting jackets and what I needed was a more straight jacket Said she had lots of boxes in the back that had yet to be stocked, so I should come back and keep checking. Of course Michigan has has concealed carry since 1927 and shall issue for 4 years. Guess in time, Ohio merchants and even some Kentucky border cities will relax and become non-chalant about citizens carrying.

Every time I find a store in Ohio with a sign preventing concealed carry I find the owner/ manager. The first question I ask them is "Are you ready to be robbed and how do you propose to protect your customers in the event of an armed robbery?" What that little sign really says is HEY CRIMINALS COME ROB AND ASSAULT US, THERE'S NOBODY ARMED IN HERE! Criminals will carry guns into stores whether there's a sign there or not. The sign just makes it easier for them to figure out who to rob and assault. You all might try pointing these facts out to store owners when you see the signs. I know at least 20 have come down since I started spreading the truth about concealed carry. Every little bit helps!
