Hello all; I have been a reader of the forums here for quite some time, but I have always just used it for research and information; I finally broke down and registered (I will be moving over to the introduction section to post a bit more there later).
Wisconsin recently became the 49th state to pass a concealed carry bill, so I am new to CC. Milwaukee being as high in crime as it is, I have a Glock 23 as my bedside/home defense/range fun gun that I am very comfortable with and have no intention of replacing; at 6'3" 275 lbs I will be getting a good IWB (probably galco or high noon) holster and do not foresee any problems carrying it concealed.
My question is this:
I am looking for an alternative - a smaller, summer (pocket preferably, or IWB) gun - I loathe warm weather and dress very lightly when things heat back up. It may also serve as a decent backup (ankle?) gun to the G23 when the situation calls for it, and my research/range rental time have finally led me to the Walther PPS.
Before I purchase one however, I wanted to get the one thing I am missing: what you guys here at THR think about it (the Walther PPS in .40). Yes, I am set on the .40 S&W so any alternate suggestions please keep that in mind - I considered something in .380 but I have heard of too many feed issues with hollow point self defense rounds for the micro-sized .380's... and I just really love the .40
Thanks!
